Aims The stress of war is not limited to the wartime period, but also triggers chronic and acute reactions after the war, characterized by psychological and physical damage. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of anger management training on resilience, happiness and general health of veterans’ sons. Material & Methods The research was quasi-experimental with pretest and posttest with case and control groups. The number of samples required for this study was 30 male students of the veteran child of the second high school of Shahed school in Kerman in 2018, in which 15 people were randomly assigned to the case group and 15 to the control group. Anger control training was conducted for 12 sessions in the case group. To collect the required data in both pre-test and post-test stages, 4 trait-anger expression questionnaires (STAXI-2), Conor-Davidson Resilience Questionnaire (C-DRS), Patterson Happiness Questionnaire and General Health Questionnaire were used. The collected data were analyzed using analysis of covariance and SPSS 23 software. Findings There was a significant difference between case and control groups in terms of resilience, happiness and general health scores after presenting the independent variable (anger management training) (p<0. 001), so that the effect of anger control on resilience variable 60%, Happiness 41% and general health 65%. Conclusion Anger management training is effective in increasing resilience, happiness and general health of veterans’ sons.

Aims This study investigated the effect of perceived social support on the happiness of the wives of Zanjan physical veterans. Instruments & Methods This is a descriptive correlational study. 188 wives of physical veterans with a percentage of 40% and above were selected by simple random sampling. Data were collected through Oxford and Zimet questionnaires and analyzed by multivariate regression in SPSS 25 software. Findings The age group of 45 to 54 years, with 60. 6%, had the highest frequency. 55. 9% of veterans’ wives’ happiness level was high, 41% moderate, and 3. 2% low. Among the happiness components, the lowest mean was related to the aesthetic (1. 85) and the highest to self-efficacy (2. 27). 78. 72% of veterans’ wives reported high perceived social support, 15. 50% moderate, and 5. 85% low. The highest averages were obtained from family (4. 02), community (3. 92), and friends (2. 91), respectively. There was a significant relationship between the components of happiness and perceived social support (p<0. 05). The results showed that the correlation coefficient of social support components with happiness (MR=0. 443 and RS=0. 96) was significant (p<0. 00), and 19. 6% of the variance of happiness is explained by the dimensions of perceived social support Among the three types of social support, only family support was predictive of happiness (p<0. 00). Conclusion Family support plays a major role in the happiness of physical veterans’ wives.

Aims The complications of sulfur mustard (SM) in lungs, eyes, and skin of exposed survivors have already been studied. This study evaluates health problems of other than the usual affected organs in survivors with severe respiratory injuries. Instruments & Methods In this descriptive cross-sectional study, 292 chemical warfare veterans with severe pulmonary complications due to exposure to sulfur mustard were examined by two physicians in 2016. Health problems in the veterans were recorded and a clinical examination was performed. Data using SPSS software version 2016 and Chi-square test and Lambda correlation coefficient were analyzed. Findings The most common problems of chemical warfare victims with severe pulmonary complications were related to musculoskeletal problems 92. 1% (low back pain 68. 8%), neurological system 88. 4%(headache 78. 1%), auditory system 81. 8%(Hearing loss 62%), gastrointestinal tract 78. 1% (reflux 74. 3%), kidney and urinary tract (65. 1%), cardiovascular (52. 4%), immune system disorders (43. 4%) and infertility 10. 6%. The mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure of the veterans were 121. 1± 14. 7 and 79. 7± 8. 8mmHg, respectively. Most of them were under treatment of respiratory corticosteroids (72. 2%) and oral corticosteroids (45%). There were no significant relationships between gender, age, frequency of exposure to sulfur mustard, and the prevalence of physical complaints and musculoskeletal diseases, nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular system, and hearing loss (p>0. 05). Conclusion The most important health problems were musculoskeletal, neurological, hearing loss, and gastrointestinal problems. Moreover, the rate of using corticosteroids was very high while the rate of Infertility was less prevalent than previous studies. These results will help investment policies aiming at considering future health promotion planning.
