Introduction: The main objective of this research work is to examine the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral education (CBE) based on intolerance of uncertainty and emotional regulation on behavioral activation/ inhibition systems (BIS) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) of students with social anxiety disorder. Methods: The target population was 300 students at Islamic Azad University of Birjand in 2020. Of these, 231 students completed the social anxiety, generalized anxiety and intolerance of uncertainty questionnaires. A total of 60 students with high scores of social anxieties were identified. A diagnostic interview was conducted on the candidate students by the purposive sampling technique. Finally, the tested students were randomly split into two experimental (CBE-based on intolerance of uncertainty and emotional regulation) and one control group. The experimental group was trained for ten sessions of an hour and a half for the diagnosis and treatment of reading disorders. Two months after training, post-training questionnaires were distributed between the students. Statistical data analysis was performed by SPSS 25. Results: Analysis of covariance showed that CBE-based on intolerance of uncertainty and emotional regulation significantly changed BIS (p<0. 05). The Bonferroni test showed that mean score values of the activation system increased meaningfully in the experimental group compared with the control group. A statistically significant difference was explored between the mean score values of inhibition systems in the two experimental groups. Analysis of covariance also indicated that CBE-based on intolerance of uncertainty and emotional regulation considerably reduced GAD (p<0. 05). The Bonferroni test showed that mean score values of GAD reduced significantly in the experimental group compared with the control group. Conclusions: The results of this study indicate that CBE is an effective educational approach for treating students who struggle with anxiety disorder. It is recommended that CBE be used in university counseling centers for treating students who struggle with anxiety disorder.

Introduction: COVID-19 has put unprecedented pressure on healthcare systems around the world and posed different challenges for nurses. The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of mindfulness in the relationship between corona anxiety and quality of professional life in nurses. Methods: The present study was a descriptive correlational study and its statistical society consisted of all nurses working in public hospitals in Birjand (N = 550) in the period from April to June 2021. Research tools were distributed among 300 people. Convenience sampling method was used to select the sample. Professional quality of life scale, Corona disease anxiety scale and five-facet mindfulness questionnaire were used to collect data. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling and SPSS-22 and Lisrel 8. 8. Results: Out of 300 distributed questionnaires, 269 people answered the questionnaires completely. The mean and standard deviation of age were 32. 54 and 7. 85, respectively. The highest correlation was observed between the description and observation component of mindfulness (p <0. 01) and the lowest correlation was observed between the burnout component of professional quality of life and physical anxiety (p <0. 01). The results showed that the direct path of Corona anxiety to mindfulness (p<0. 01), mindfulness to professional quality of life (p<0. 01) and corona anxiety to professional quality of life (p<0. 05) was significant. Furthermore, it was found that the indirect pathway between corona anxiety and professional quality of life is mediated by mindfulness (p<0. 01). Conclusions: The findings of this study supported the mediating role of mindfulness in the relationship between corona anxiety and professional quality of life. Therefore, it seems necessary to consider the role of these predictor variables by specialists, therapists, health care organizations and institutions when hiring, training, internships and retraining of nurses.

Abstract:

Introduction: For the nursing bachelor's degree to be more successful in Iran and to identify the strengths and weaknesses of its curriculum, it is necessary to conduct comparative studies and benefit from the experiences and strategies experienced in successful universities. This study aimed to compare the Iranian undergraduate nursing curriculum with the University of Southampton, UK. Methods: The present study is a comparative descriptive study that was performed using Bereday's four-step model including description, interpretation, proximity, and comparison. The details provided from the Iranian bachelor's nursing curriculum are taken from the website of the Ministry of Health in Iran and the University of Southampton. Results: Despite the similarities in the content of some courses, there are differences in terms of admission requirements, and course length between the two educational systems. At the University of Southampton, there is an emphasis on training managers with a research-oriented approach and technology integration, but this issue has received less attention in Iran. At Southampton, attention to research at the end of the study has led the student to identify problems and be drawn to research, while in Iran, a nursing research lesson is taught at the beginning of the course. Educational strategies at Southampton are student-centered, but in Iran they are teacher-centered. The day problems are seen in the online curriculum of the University of Southampton, but there is less flexibility in the Iranian curriculum and a focus on knowledge-based. Graduates in the UK are directed towards hospitals and society, but in Iran, graduates are mainly directed towards hospitals, and their ability to take on other social roles is not seen. Conclusions: In addition to developing professional skills, the Iranian Nursing Bachelor's training program needs to focus on training managers with a research-oriented approach. It is also necessary, to on studentcentered principles instead of teacher-centered,emphasize problem-oriented instead of knowledge-oriented, and community-oriented instead of hospital-oriented.
