Abstract: 

Aim: The purpose of the study was to develop a social study achievement test for high school Students (first grade) based on item response theory.Method: The sample consisted of 321 high school students in Tehran. Multi-stage cluster sampling was used for selecting the participants. The first step in conducting this exam was to prepare two parallel forms of multiple choice style which on one hand concentrated on the educational objectives and on the other hand on the content of the lessons. These forms were administered in three preliminary stages, first: the questions were analyzed for any ambiguity in their composition, the comprehension of expressions was tested and the like, in the second stage which was the practical stage, consisted of determining the difficulty level of the questions, the students ability to recognize questions and also the level of interdependence of questions with the overall score etc …. Both of these forms were administrated to the sample group in a ten day interval.Results: The results show that: the constructed forms were of high reliability, they were at the same time acknowledgeable through the analysis based on the classical Method and they were also in accordance with the three–factors of the Item Response Theory. Taking into account the Item characteristic curve, both of the forms produced the knowledge for the students with average ability. In this analysis a kind of rank – percentile norm for both sex was formulated.Conclusion: In general, based on IRT a social study achievement test with acceptable psychometric properties was developed.

Abstract: 

Aim: The research has been conducted with the purpose of development and validation of Behavioral Disorders in Autistic Spectrum Children (parent’s form).Method: The sample of the study consisted of 110 Child autism (72 male, 38 female). A modified form of Children’s Behavior questionnaire for completion (parent’s form) and Behavioral Disorders in Autistic Spectrum Children (parent’s form) test were administered.Results: Construct validity was exam by Factor Analysis and the results showed a general factor. Reliability was measured by Cronbach Alpha (reliability coefficient = 0.95) and the relationship was significant between Children’s Behavior questionnaire for completion (parent’s form) and Behavioral Disorders in Autistic Spectrum Children (parent’s form) that established convergent validity.Conclusion: Totally, the results of the research revealed a good reliability and validity for the Autistic Spectrum Children Scale.

Abstract: 

Aim: The aim of this study was to develop, validate, reliability and standardization of couples communication skills inventory in married Couples in Tehran.Method: The present study was administered on 342 participants were selected using sampling available method.Results: The results based on item total correlation showed that Cornbach's alpha and test-retest reliability coefficient for the scale were 0.93 and 0.92 respectively. The result of principle component analysis (PCA) and Varimax rotation showed the structure of the scale in Iranian population (deleting 14 items without the factor loads) contains 3 factors (verbal communication and empathy; communicative barriers; sexual communication skill). The correlation coefficients between the factors of communication skills and Quality of Marriage Index confirmed the convergent validity of the scale. Furthermore, the discriminate validity coefficient of communication skills showed that it can discriminate normal group from communicatively unable group.Conculsion: In general, we can say that the results of this study had the empirical support for the validity and reliability of this scale in the research sample.

Abstract: 

Aim: The purpose of the research was to exam the psychometric properties of the Persian from of the Balanced Emotional Empathy Scale (BEES).Method: The sample consisted of 142 staff of the KOMA Factory in Shiraz. The Persian version of the Balanced Emotional Empathy Scale was used in this study. Principle component factor analysis was run to test the factor structure of the BEES.Results: The results of the factor analysis revealed a six factor structure for the BEES named: relational empathy, expressive empathy, cooperative empathy, to be moved by others' emotional experience, emotional stability, and empathy with other. Correlation coefficients of the subscale with the total scale of the BEES showed a good convergent and divergent validity for the subscales of the BEES. Also the test-retest reliability revealed a acceptable reliability for the BEES.Conclusion: In sum the study showed that the Persian version of the BEES is useful research instrument.

Abstract: 

Aim: The purpose of the study was to check the psychometric properties of the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ).Method: The sample consisted of 409 higher school students with a mean and SD age 14.5 and 4.5 respectively. The cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire and Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scales (DASS) were used in this study.Results: Principle component factor analysis revealed that there is a seventh factor structure for CERQ. Alpha coefficients and tester test reliability showed a good internal consistency and reliability for subscales of the CERQ. Also the correlation coefficient between DASS score and the subscales of the CERQ present an acceptable convergent and divergent validity for the subscales of the CERQ.Conclusion: In sum the results showed the properties of the psychometric indexes for the Persian version of the CERQ for research job.

Abstract: 

aim: The aim of the study was to exam the psychometric properties of the Jordan's Attention Deficit Disorder Indexes (Jordan's ADDI).Method: The sample of the study consisted of 1219 elementary school students (636 boys and 583 girls). The sampling method was cluster sampling. In this study DSM IV indexes and Jordan's ADDI (parent and teacher forms) were used for data gathering. One hundred seventy eight students were selected from main sample (87 with and 87 without attention deficit) based on DSM IV index.Results: The results of the study revealed that the Jordan's ADDI forms (parent and teacher form) have acceptable reliability and validity for Iranian students. Alpha coefficient of parent and teacher form of Jordan's ADDI showed a good internal consistency. Also the correlation coefficient between parent form and teacher form showed a good convergent validity. The result of the study showed that there are negative significant correlations between both forms of Jordan's ADDI with academic performance. In sum, the study showed the properties of the Jordan's ADDI (both forms) for Iranian students.

Abstract: 

Aim: Factor structure, Concurrent validity and reliability of Thought control Questionnaire (TCQ) and Anxious Thought Inventory (An TI) were examined in this study.Method: After translation and back translation of TCQ and An TI, 767 students completed Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) and TCQ and An TI; 528 of them completed TCQ and An TI again 14 days later.Results: Principal components factor analysis of TCQ revealed five factors named "Distraction", "Worry", "Social control", "Punishment" and "reappraisal". Distraction was negatively associated with Depression, anxiety, physical symptoms and problems in interpersonal relationships. Punishment and worry subscales related positively with BDI-II, BAI and all scales of GHQ. Factor analysis of An TI showed three factor solution named "meta-worry", "health worry" and "social worry". All of subscale of An TI are positively and significantly associated with Depression, Anxiety, physical symptoms and problems in interpersonal relationships. The Factor solution was almost identical with original scale. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability of both of TCQ and AnTI was satisfactory and sufficient.Conclusion: These results provide promising evidences about utility of Persian version of TCQ and An TI in Iranian population. However, further research is required to assess psychometric properties of TCQ and An TI among Iranian patients with Depression and Anxiety disorders.

Abstract: 

Aim: The purpose of the study was to check the psychometric properties of the organizational intelligence scale (OIS).Method: The sample consisted of 335 personnel of the Tele communications Company of Shiraz.Results: Principle component factor analysis was run to clarify the construct of the OIS. The results of factor analysis revealed that there is a seventh factor structure for OIS. Alpha coefficients reliability showed a good internal consistency and reliability for subscales of the OIS. Also the correlation coefficient between total score and the subscales of the OIS present an acceptable convergent validity for the subscales of the OIS.Conclusion: In sum, the results of this study showed good psychometric properties for the Persian version of the OIS.
