Abstract:

Lullaby is a kind of motherly song which is used to put infants into sleep, but one type of formal literature in the constitutional period inspired by these lullabies targeted the awareness and awakening of common people. The current research explores Mirza Ali Akbar Saber (1279-1329), Abulghasem Lahuti (1264-1336), and Sayed Ashrafaldin Gilani’s (1352-1287) lullabies. The goal of this study is to introduce these types of lullabies, the reasons of their songs, the analysis of their structures and contents, and the differences of such types of lullabies with the conventional ones. The methodology of this research is descriptive-analytical. The data was gathered by library and document analysis. The results indicated that the lullabies were formed under social, political, and psychological circumstances of that period. The secret of success of this type of poem in communicating with its addressees in transacting political issues and making the people aware lies in its simple language, traditional literature, the naturalness of literary methods, and the avoidance of intricacy. Finally, the results illustrated two different discourses by the poets of these poems which are investigated in this study.

Abstract:

The concept of Comparison has been so long-lasting and durable that they can be taken into account as both humanistic and social tradition. This field of research, which first had a transnational, translinguistic and transcultural nature, was connected with interdisciplinary studies in the 20th century. In the present research study, the authors intend to, with a view toward comparative literature, study the samples of psychology theory of “pyramid of needs” by Abraham Maslow in Persian Proverbs. The purpose of the study is to, through a psycho-literary analysis of this concept, reveal the scope and capacity of each discipline in offering new horizons for future research. The results of this study show that the ideas which are proposed by humanistic psychologist to represent a motivational analysis of human behavior, such as the one proposed by Maslow, have already been considered in Persian literature in an explicit or implicit manner. This study, for the first time in Persian literature, analyzes Persian proverbs based on the 8 needs of Maslow ‘s pyramid and propose two major findings: a) the effectiveness of a psychological theory in relationship to folk literature is proven and b) a better understanding of the value of Persian proverbs in representing mental and abstract concepts is gained.

Abstract:

The transfiguration of a person into a corpse is one of the mythological and symbolic elements in Kurdish folktales. In transfiguration, the shape and nature of creatures are changed from one state to another by using supernatural power of person or creature. The current study was carried out in a descriptive-analytical method based on the library sources and field research. In this research, using mythic criticism, the roots of petrification were investigated. Then, the way people faced it, as well as the causes and tools necessary to get rid of this change, were discussed. The results showed that the reflection of mythical beliefs, passing through history and reaching the present age, in Kurdish folktales, shows the immortality and dynamism of these beliefs, by deciphering and analyzing of which, the common root of this mythological view can be discovered and interpreted.

Abstract:

One of the unknown types of Persian language and literature are translations of the Old Testament. Usually, the language of these texts is Persian and their script is Hebrew. One of the characteristics of this type of texts is the strong influence of Persian literature and vernacular language. In this article, based on sociolinguistics criteria, the spoken and written elements of some of these texts (translations of the Old Testament) have been examined. According to this study, the language of the aforementioned texts has been affected by the vernacular language in two aspects: first, phonetic transformations, which include the following: transformation of âm / ân > um / un, phonetic homogeneity, phonetic reduction, phonetic increase, different types of mutation and metathesis inversion. Second are dialectal words. The dialectal elements of any language have a close relationship with its vernacular language and literature. Informal written elements have also influenced these texts in two aspects: a. use of Hebrew script, b. spelling mistakes based on the present research. It can be concluded that this type of translation of the Old Testament is linguistically closer to the vernacular or at least informal type of language.

Abstract:

Proverbs are one of the influential cultural tools in promoting organized ideologies, setting worldviews and guiding social behavior. They strengthen collective coordination and cooperation among social activists and cause intellectual and cultural convergence around a common issue. In this article, an attempt is made to address the problem of how proverbs, as a tool of popular culture, shape collective behavior with the method of qualitative analysis and description. The premise is that proverbs arrange individual behaviors with collective behaviors via "rationalization", "institutionalization" and "structuralism". The foundations and function of proverbs show their capacity and ability to monitor and control social behaviors, expecting roles such as "correlation and development of cooperation", "achieving common benefit", "defining behavioral patterns", "framing", "collective conscience" and "social cohesion" from proverbs make it is possible to regulate the scattered behavior of actors.
