In recent decades, Iranian society has faced significant changes in youth values and beliefs.Very few researches show that premarital sex is rising in Iran. This increase has gradually led to more complexities in this area. Nowadays, premarital sex has found different kinds and origins. The goal of this qualitative research is the typology of different premarital sex patterns in Iran. In this study, 54 boys and girls who have experienced such relationships were interviewed. Research findings indicate that premarital sex patterns in Iran are divided into at least six different categories. These patterns include: 1. casual relationships (prostitution patterns), 2.Concubine relationships, 3.boy friend- girl friend relationships, 4.cohabitation relationships, 5.anti love relationships (deception patterns) and 6.relationships based on liquid love. These different patterns can be separated under three different discourses: “Pre-modern discourse” (the first and second category), “Modern discourse” (the third, fourth and fifth category) and “Postmodern discourse” (the sixth category).Each of these discourses evokes subjects in a special way and individuals have found not only different behaviors but also different values in these discourses. Pre-modern discourse has a long last history and still remains alive but nowadays beside this discourse, there are also two other discourses -modern and postmodern- in the hidden layers of urban society which despite of their differences, they both are the result of process modernity in Iranian society; the patterns which are rising in recent years by the help of changing social and economic structures and values.

In the new era of communication, television is still one of the strongest media with a high impact on families, hardly a house with any TV is found! The rapid growth of a variety of Persian satellite TVs has affected Iranian culture in so many ways.«Manoto» is one of the newest channels that target Iranian audiences. The reasons for its success can be sought either through its producers or audiences’ point of views. This paper presents the audiences’ opinions.It is thought-provoking that 73.2% of students answering our questions admitted that the quality of this channel compared with national channels increases the number of audiences. Furthermore, 50% of students believe Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) is the main reason for choosing satellite TVs over national ones.

The present study investigates the factors influencing the consumption of cultural goods among the young people. The main objective of this study was to identify the role the social and individual factors such as age, gender, occupation, education, leisure time and socio-economic status play in the consumption of cultural goods among young people. The study was conducted in the form of a survey in which 400 young people were randomly selected from a population of 96429 people ranging from 18 to 29 years old from Gorgan. Random cluster sampling was used in this study and main instrument of data collection was a researcher-made questionnaire. Data analysis was done through using the right statistical methods on the basis of measuring variables. Findings and results show that there are significant differences between gender and consumption of cultural goods. Furthermore the findings display that men consume more cultural goods than women. Moreover, there are significant differences between educational level, age, socio-economic status, leisure time and the consumption of cultural goods.

This paper examines the social morals and customs of Lootian in the Qajar period.Lootian was part of a chain that began with Fotowat and continued through market guild and Ayyari. Although it was transformed in some course, but in the decline, it changed into Lootian and in the present century was changed to Lumpen (in the Marxist theories). There are some different and sometimes conflicting meanings of Lootian, from barefooted and poor, to Pederast.Also Loot in its own language means Satiety. In this article, we explain Lootian’s morals and their difference with Panties and explain attitudes toward Lootian. And specifically, we explain Lootian’s cover and their clothing components, their habitude, Lootian’s languages and dialects, their funs and games, and their names and titles. Finally, rituals of Lootian are discussed and their competitions and fights in Muharram Ceremonies were explained.

This article deals with the contribution of nonverbal communication in three types of social interaction including verbal, nonverbal and paraverbal. Thus, in the first place it has paid attention to importance of nonverbal communication from sociological and social psychological perspectives in social interaction and then some kinds of nonverbal signals and cues that are recognized as more efficient in individual’s social perception has been mentioned. At the end consequences of the discussion has been summarized.

This study explores how salient cultural elements are expressed in selected written Persian Proverbs from certain texts. The main focus of the present study is to identify which of the three dimensions of attitudes: Emotional, cognitive and behavioral are expressed in the selected proverbs. The content analysis is applied to reveal attitudinal dimensions of Persian proverbs. This study can pave the way for conduct research on oral proverbs used by people in all walks of life in contemporary Iran, which were not included in the present study.Results indicated that the emotional dimension of attitude has the highest rate (75.24) followed by Cognitive (17.14) and behavioral dimension of attitudes with the lowest frequency (7.62).

Humans are faced with stressful and challenging situations in different fields of life; many of them can damage not only individuals but also families and academic performance, career and social relations. In such condition, an expert’s aid can help them to better understand the problem and find various solutions, make decisions and act. Such professional help is provided by the process of counseling and psychotherapy. Counseling should be proportionate with the needs and unique characteristics developed based on the sources and environments that s/he has grown up in and encountered the problems. The counselor is influenced by belief systems, values and attitudes towards human beings, his ideology, theoretical framework and his/her accepted psychological approach. So, a consultancy is successful that is provided in accordance with local characteristics. The world wide view accepts this type of counseling.
