Introduction: In hospitals disaster is regarded as a crisis and must be properly managed and controlled to prevent its conversion into a scandal. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of maneuver on the readiness of employees in a military hospital. Methods: A quasi-experimental study (before and after design) was conducted on the 70 personnel in a military hospital. Data were collected using a valid and reliable questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS software (v. 20).Results: The mean score of readiness scopes before and after the manouver were 22.74 and 23.74, respectively. This difference was not statistically significant (p=0.693). Except for planning and knowledge & attitude scope (p=0.049) and attitude (p=0.000), there were no significant difference regarding different scopes such as staff’s concept a bout the disaster (p=0.337), organizing (p=0.219), education (p=0.228), Awareness (p=0.928) and skill (p=0.112). Conclusion: Some degree of heterogenity in the process of the promotion of the scopes have seen during the intervention (trauma manouver). One of the reasons is weakness in designing the scenarios. Therefore readiness of health workers should be considered by policy-makers and senior managers of the health system.

Introduction: The Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is a viral disease causing severe haemorrhagic fever outbreaks and is transmitted to healthy peopleeither by tick bites or through contact with infected animal blood or tissues during and immediately after slaughter. Most infected cases are reported to be among livestock industry and slaughterhouse workers. The present paper aims toevaluate the effect of CCHF on the awareness and functioning of the Livestock Producers and Slaughterhouse Workers in Shustar, Iran in the time span from April 2014 to March 2015. Method: For this semi-experimental study, samples were taken among livestock industry and slaughterhouse workers in the city of Shustar (40 livestock farmers and 160 slaughterhouse workers) by Stratified Random Sampling. Study tools included questionnaires and function observation checklists, both before and after training. First, the before-training questionnaires and checklists were completed. Then sample subjects were trained about CCHF and its prevention and transmission. A month after training, sample subjects completed after-training questionnaires and checklists. The statistical software SPSS, discriptive statistics methods including average, standard deviation, minimum and maximum scores, frequency and percentage, and also inferential statistics methods such as correlated t-test and Kolmogorov-Smirnoff test were used to analyze data. Results: findings of this study showed a significant difference between the awareness of CCHF among personnel before and after training (p=0.001, t=7.4). Also, there is a significant difference in their functioning and attitude toward CCHF among them before and after training (p=0.001, t=11.95).Conclusion: Results and analyzed data reveals that the training program leads to higher awareness of CCHF among livestock industry and slaughterhouse workers and, therefore, is effective. So the training program has been effective in increasing awareness and behaviour changing among livestock industry and slaughterhouse workers.

Abstract:

Introduction: Toxoplasmosis is an important infection which is caused by Toxoplasma Gondi. This protozoa infection is prevalent among many warm-blooded animals and spreads worldwide. Toxoplasmosis could lead to still birth in pregnant woman and death in immune deficiency cases. The purposes of this study were determination of serum Cholesterol, HDL and LDL in patients infected with toxoplasmosis. Methods: In this descriptive and analytical – cross sectional study, 200 persons who referred to Farabi laboratory (Ardabil) during summer and fall 2014, were examined. After preparation of blood sample and serum, Electro chemiluminescence(ECL) technique was used to detect contamination of toxoplasmosis and in order to determination of the serum levels of Cholesterol, HDL and LDL lipids, it was applied Auto analyzer technique. Finally data was analyzed through SPSS19 using independent t-test method. Results: From 200 studied cases (150 women and 50 men), 22 cases (14 women and 8 men) were positive for toxoplasmosis (Anti-toxoplasmosis Ig G were above 30). Cholesterol, HDL and LDL lipids were measured in both case (22 infected cases) and control (22 non-infected persons) groups. The mean of Cholesterol, HDL and LDL were 147.27, 32.23, 95.63 in control group and 173.59, 49.32 and 94.91 in case group respectively. Conclusion: The amount of Cholesterol and HDL in case group (Toxoplasmosis positive) were higher than control group (Cholesterol Sig. =0.016 and HDL Sig. =0.001), whereas the amount of LDL had no significant difference between these two groups (LDL Sig. =0.92).
