Abstract: 

Introduction: Resident physicians play an essential role in teaching medical students and are crucial clinical decision-makers in teaching hospitals. Hence, their ability to use evidence-based medicine has been effective in reducing medical errors and improving clinical decisions. The present study was designed to assess the attitudes and awareness of using evidence-based medicine in residents through self-declaration. Methods: This research was an applied and descriptive-cross-sectional study based on a questionnaire. The study population consisted of all medical and dental residents studying at Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in 2020. Two hundred and nine residents participated in the study by completing the questionnaire. Results: 42. 1% of them passed at least a course in evidence-based medicine, and 65. 5% were familiar with it. In addition, most of them knew the Pub Med database (89%), and also the familiarity with the Bandolier (3. 3%), Dare, and DOAJ (zero percent) databases was minimal. Next point was that the participants used printed books as the first and most important source of information (41. 5%). According to 40% of the participants, lack of knowledge of using the sites was the most important reason for not using Internet-based information sources. Conclusion: In general, the results showed the moderate knowledge and skills of using evidence-based medical databases among residents.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Self-efficacy is considered a major predictor of academic achievement, and several psychological studies have attempted to promote this factor in Iranian students. The present meta-analysis research aimed to review the effectiveness of psychological interventions (psycho-educational) on Iranian students' self-efficacy. Methods: The current study was a meta-analysis in terms of purpose. The statistical population comprised articles by Iranian researchers published in scientific journals and indexed in foreign databases. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, psychoeducational psychological interventions on self-efficacy of students' from databanks during years 2009 to 2021 were extracted which among 34 studies with 34 effect sizes were selected for final analysis. The instrument applied for the data analysis was the meta-analysis checklist, and the stages of the meta-analysis were conducted according to the technique proposed by Howitt and Cramer (2005). After investigating 62 studies, 34 studies including 1645 participants were found to meet the entry criteria. Results: The overall effect size of the current study was 0. 48 that was moderate and significant (p< 0. 00001) based on Cohen's D interpretation table. Psychological interventions had the greatest effect size for the educational dimension (Es = 0. 52), followed by other self-efficacy dimensions (Es = 0. 51) and the general dimension (Es= 0. 45), respectively. Conclusion: According to inclusion, psychological interventions (Psycho-educational) significantly promoted students' self-efficacy and its dimensions.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the educational performance of students in doctor of dentistry before and during the Corona pandemic in Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences during 2021. Methods: The research was experimental and carried out in terms of post-event method. The statistical population was 250 of dental students in Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, and then they were selected as a sample by simple random sampling according to the Georgian and Morgan table. In the descriptive part, the indicators related to the mean and standard deviation,and in the inferential part, the independent and dependent t-test was used to test the hypotheses. Next, SPSS software version 23 was used for analysis that a significance level of 0. 05 was considered. Results: According to data analysis, the results showed that the mean of scores during and before Corona pandemic in obtaining the score of credit “, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology course (1)”,was equal to 15. 98 and 12. 41, respectively,regarding to credit “, Anatomy of the Practical tooth”, , the mean score during Corona was 0. 00. 17 whereas it was 12. 14 before Corona pandemic,and also the mean of scores obtained in credit “, Internal diseases (2)”,was equal to 16. 48 and 12. 54 during and before Corona pandemic, correspondingly,next, for the credit “, Pharmacology”, , the mean of intracorona scores was obtained 17. 00 while the mean was 12. 30 before pandemic,and finally, the credit “, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (1), the mean score during Corona pandemic was measured 16. 95 while it was equal to 12. 62 before the pandemic. Conclusion: The results of the comparative t test showed that there was a significant difference between the average grades of students in the specialized courses examined before and during the Corona pandemic, and also the average grades increased during the Corona period.

Abstract: 

Porpose: This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the components of creative leadership in Islamic Azad University, Karaj branch. Methods: The research method was mixed or combined. In the first part, the dimensions and components of creative leadership in higher education were determined by analyzing the systematic approach in the foundation data theory. The participants were selected based on purposeful and theoretical sampling (snowball) from the statistical community of managers, experts, professors, and higher education specialists in Islamic Azad University, Karaj branch. And then the researcher achieved the stage of theoretical data saturation by interviewing 12 participants using a quastionnair which its content validity had been confirmed by academic experts. The reliability of the questionnaire was also equal to 0. 927 during the calculation of Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Next, data analysis was done in three stages of open, axial and selective coding, while in the second part, their validation was done by a descriptive survey method. The statistical population in the quantitative section was estimated to be 170 people using Cochran's formula. Findings: Based on the findings, the dimensions and components of creative leadership in higher education included entrepreneurial, transformative, effective, intelligent, educational, organizational intelligence and emotional intelligence. Conclusion: The results showed that creative leaders, by creating new ideas and perspectives, might set a new path of growth and prosperity for organizations and improve the performance of organizations and gain a competitive advantage. Through determining roles, requirements and tasks assigned, they direct and motivate their followers towards certain goals.

Abstract: 

Porpose: The purpose of this research was to "investigate the spiritual vitality and communication skills of gifted high IQ students and graduates who entered the university before the age of 15". Methods: The research method in terms of purpose was practical, in terms of the method of collecting data was descriptive post-event, and causal-comparative research. The statistical population in this research was gifted students and graduates who entered the university before the age of 15, and also their peers in terms of year of entrance, average of grade, and job type. In addition, the sampling method was non-random and available that two groups responded to Afrooz's Spiritual Vitality Questionnaire (2015) and Bar-On Emotional-Social Intelligence Questionnaire (2015). Then frequency distribution tables, bar charts, mean and standard deviation, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, one-sample t test and multivariate analysis of variance were additionally used for data analysis. The data of this research was analyzed using SPSS software version 22. Findings: The results of the analysis showed that the average of spiritual vitality, communication skills and their subscales in both groups were significantly higher than the expected average. Conclusion: The average of spiritual vitality and communication skills in the gifted group were significantly higher than the normal group.

Abstract: 

Porpose: The present research was conducted with the purpose of providing a model for the development of knowledge management future research in Islamic Azad University of Tehran province. Methods: The research method was mixed or combined. In the qualitative section, 15 experts were selected based on purposeful and theoretical sampling (snowball). The statistical population in the quantitative section includes all faculty members and teaching staff of the faculties of educational sciences of the Islamic Azad University of Tehran province (about 210 people) who were employed in the educational sciences faculties of the Islamic Azad University of Tehran province in the academic year of 1401-1400. Karjesi and Morgan's table estimated the number of 160 people and were selected by random sampling. In the qualitative analysis of the findings, a paradigm was used, and in the quantitative analysis of the data, structural equation analysis method was used. Findings: The results showed that the development model of knowledge management futurology in Islamic Azad University of Tehran province includes causal conditions (software and hardware infrastructures),Background conditions (cultural platforms with a technological view of globalization of higher education, foresight and the use of scientific tools for future research) Intervening conditions (institutionalizing social activity), central category The effective methods were knowledge creation), strategies ( institutionalization of foresight in the university's policy making system) and consequences (development of organizational awareness and productivity of human resources). Conclusion: The results of research findings showed that the model compiled in the current research had a suitable structure.

Abstract: 

مقدمه دستیاران بالینی نقش مهمی در آموزش دانشجویان پزشکی دارند و از مهمترین افراد تصمیم گیرنده بر بالین در مراکز آموزشی-درمانی به شمار می آیند. از اینرو توانایی آن ها در عملکرد مبتنی بر شواهد بر رخ داد خطاهای پزشکی و بهبود تصمیم های بالینی موثر بوده است. مطالعه حاضر با هدف سنجش نگرش و آگاهی استفاده از پزشکی مبتنی بر شواهد در دستیاران تخصصی از طریق خود اظهاری طراحی شد. روش کار این مطالعه به صورت توصیفی-مقطعی و مبتنی بر پرسشنامه انجام گرفته است. جامعه پژوهش را کلیه دستیاران تخصصی پزشکی و دندانپزشکی که در سال 1399 خورشیدی در دانشگاه علوم پزشکی جندی شاپور اهواز در حال تحصیل بودند، تشکیل دادند. دویست و نه دستیار از طریق تکمیل پرسشنامه در این مطالعه شرکت کردند. نتایج 1/42% از آنها، دوره ی پزشکی مبتنی بر شواهد را گذرانده بوده و 5/65% با پزشکی مبتنی بر شواهد آشنا بودند. همچنین بیشترین میزان آشنایی آنها با پایگاه داده Pubmed (%89) و کمترین میزان آشنایی با پایگاه داده های Bandolier و Dare (3/3 %) و DOAJ (صفر درصد) بوده است. به علاوه، بیشترین و اصلی ترین منبع اطلاعاتی مورد استفاده آنها کتب چاپی (5/41%) بود و به اعتقاد 40 درصد از شرکت کنندکان در مطالعه، عدم شناخت سایت های مفید، مهمترین دلیل برای استفاده نکردن از منابع اطلاعاتی مبتنی بر اینترنت بود. نتیجه گیری بطور کلی، نتایج این مطالعه نشان داد که میزان آگاهی و استفاده دستیاران از پایگاه های داده ای پزشکی مبتنی بر شواهد در حد متوسط قرار داشت.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to identify and validate dimensions and components of ethical leadership among the managers of the departments of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences along with a competency approach. Methods: The research was carried out using a mixed (qualitative and quantitative) method. In order to collect information in the qualitative section, the results of semistructured interviews were used that sixteen people were selected through theoretical sampling method. In the quantitative section, 300 faculty members were selected using the Cochran's formula and by random sampling method. In next step, Confirmatory factor analysis was used to determine the relationship between items and their corresponding, while in order to evaluate the reliability, Cronbach's alpha coefficient and combined reliability indices were implied. To determine the validity of the convergent validity questionnaire of index (AVE index), convergent validity index (AVE index) and Smart PLS software were utilized. Results: Cronbach alpha and combined reliability of four dimensions were higher than 70. And also the Convergent Validity Criterion for the four dimensions was upper than 50. According to the index (HTMT), this model had good diagnostic validity. In addition, according to the index (CV Com), the outcomes showed that the model had the necessary quality. Conclusion: Research findings presented that the three dimensions of moral competence, technical competence, and ethical leadership behaviors were the most important dimensions of ethical leadership in the educational administrators of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Regarding the importance and status of virtual education in higher education, the present study was conducted with the aim of design, implement and evaluate the blended learning courses in Zanjan University of Medial Sciences. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental-interventional research. The teachers who wanted to involve in the combined courses were determined and the sessions related to the course plan were divided into two groups, the combined and traditional ones. Virtual sessions consisted of four sessions for each lesson that was completed with one in-person session for each two virtual sessions, while the traditional training sessions were six sessions. Learners' knowledge was assessed through a researcher-made test in the combined compared to the traditional sessions. Students' attitudes to the combined compared to the traditional sessions were also assessed through a standard user satisfaction questionnaire. Results: The results showed that more than 90% of students were satisfied with the combined courses and acknowledged that this educational method increases the retention of content. Conclusively, the average level of knowledge and attitude of students in the combined courses significantly increased compared to the traditional courses (p <0. 01). Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that interactive combined education would be an effective way to increase knowledge and attitude in students.

Abstract: 

Porpose: Evaluation of educational textbooks is indispensable to curriculum development. Thus, the present study was an attempt to critically evaluate the newlydeveloped EAP textbook for medical students published by SAMT. Methods: Nine ESP professors (five English professors and four medical professors) at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences completed a framework for ESP book evaluation. Moreover, they answered certain questions of this evaluation checklist in an interview session. The data were analyzed qualitatively. Findings: The results revealed that this book has improved in terms of layout and looks more inviting compared to its previous counterpart. Other distinguishing features of the book were found to be authentic texts, sufficient and coherent exercises, special attention to inductive teaching of grammar and vocabulary. However, lack of expected congruence between the topics introduced in this book and those suggested by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education for medical ESP courses is one of the hindering factors for the target students to meet their language needs. The topics of reading comprehension texts and new vocabularies have been relatively close to the topics and words which to be observed in most of the general English books. In addition, listening, speaking, to some extent writing, and pronunciation skills have been ignored in this book, as a strong reason to claim that it has been far from theoretical considerations in the field of language teaching and learning. Conclusion: Despite having indisputable merits, this textbook seemed not to be suitable for the target course.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Curriculum consultation is a new topic that has been raised in the field of curriculum studies. The purpose of this research is to investigate the necessity of designing a curriculum consultation educational package with a brain training approach. Method: This approach, emphasizing the brain and how it works and relating it to learning processes, has brought new topics into the educational field. The current research is based on the qualitative research method of content analysis and comparative categorization system. The field of research includes all books and resources available in the field of curriculum as well as texts and research done in the field of brain-based education. Due to the wide variety of available print and digital sources, the range of years 2010 to 2019 has been used. Findings: After the coding process, the main components have been extracted and expressed for each target group. The main components after the coding process, 16 main categories were extracted regarding the necessity of designing a curriculum consultation training package with a brain training approach in the department of curriculum designers and implementers. Conclusion: The extracted categories include curriculum elements, educational system issues, brain-based education, curriculum reform, curriculum goals, school coordinators and provincial and national executives, educational outputs, financial and welfare facilities, curriculum planning process, program training courses. Curriculum planning, participation in curriculum planning, facilitation of curriculum implementation, teaching skills, classroom management practices, school coordinator and parents.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Today, empowerment is one of the tools of managers in innovation and decentralization in organizations. Empowerment is the belief of an individual by which individuals' skills and knowledge are improved and acted upon. Hence, the present study aimed to identify the dimensions and barriers of faculty’, s empowerment with the approach of increasing research selfdevelopment skills to improve the quality of graduate theses and dissertations. Method: This research, in terms of applied purpose, has been done as a documentary study using Sandelowski & Barroso (2006) weekly steps. Sample selection was done using the criteria for acceptance and non-acceptance of the Critical Assessment Skills Program (CASP). Moreover, to achieve the purpose of the study, a regular and extensive review of research background was conducted. For this purpose, the databases of Google Scholar, Eric, Science Direct, Megairan, Civilica, Jihad Daneshgahi, Irandak, Alamnet and Noor databases were searched. In this regard, by reviewing scientific studies conducted in this field between 2011 & 2021, 325 documents were identified of which 37 documents were purposefully selected as a research sample and analyzed. Then documents related to scientific studies were described in the research context in the form of deductive concepts and themes in the form of documentary study methods. Findings: Findings showed that the dimensions of empowerment include self-efficacy, selfefficacy, effectiveness, meaningfulness and trust. Empowerment barriers also include structural barriers, environmental barriers, behavioral barriers, and managerial barriers. Conclusion: It seems that the empowerment of faculty members requires the commitment of top managers and related programs should start from the top of the organization pyramid, because capable managers can empower other people and since university faculty are enriched with jobs and are part of the scientific elite and Planners and policymakers are especially in the scientific field, so any of the professors can be at the top of the pyramid.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The overall purpose of this study was stated to identify the dimensions and components of good governance in macro medical universities in region one. Method: This applied study was conducted with a qualitative and quantitative approach. Hence, in the qualitative section, the statistical population consisted of 14 people selected by purposive sampling method based on the saturation law. In addition, in the quantitative section, there were 1851 professors of academic faculties of macro-medical sciences universities in the country's health sector that 320 people were selected as a sample using the stratified random sampling method and classified based on Cochran's formula. Then a researcher-made good governance questionnaire with 64 questions in 8 dimensions was used to collect data. The validity and reliability of the instruments were confirmed by the supervisors and consultants that the combined reliability and Cronbach's alpha were calculated higher than 0. 7. Next, an exploratory factor analysis and a confirmatory factor analysis were used to analyze the data. Findings: The results showed that good governance had 8 dimensions including university internationalization, accountability, university perspective, academic freedom, teamwork, foresight, transparency and university structure which the most important dimension identified was university internationalization. Conclusion: Research conducted in the field of governance in higher education has often focused on theoretical topics related to governance and governance of higher education and tried to examine the challenges, underlying factors, and their consequences. But it must be said that the life of the university world has changed and despite the problems, obstacles, and opposition to the recent developments, academics should discuss again the form and scope of university interactions in the path of progress.

Abstract: 

This study was conducted with the purpose of explaining the model of educational justice in universities of medical sciences using grounded theory study. Method: The current research is a grounded theory study that was conducted in 2014-2016. The participants were 17 faculty members and postgraduate students of medical sciences universities, and sampling was done based on the goal and until data saturation was reached. Data collection was by interview method. All interviews were recorded, handwritten and then analyzed line by line. Extracted codes and data analysis were done with the method of Strauss and Corbin 1998. The research participants included 8 men and 9 women. Findings: Educational justice among students in universities of medical sciences included 4 main categories of justice in creating educational opportunities, standard and correct evaluation, responsive education and discrimination. In total, 11 sub-classes were extracted from the above 4 classes. Justice was identified as a central concept in creating educational opportunities. Identifying how medical sciences university’, s deal with the category of educational justice can be effective in distributing educational justice among students in different universities, and as a result, it provides the basis for the emergence of talents and abilities. Provide students at the macro level. Conclusion: The results of data analysis showed that educational justice in universities of medical sciences includes justice in creating educational opportunities, correct and standard evaluation, responsive education and discrimination.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of positive, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral mindfulness therapy on rumination and psychological well-being of depressed students in the Rehabilitation Faculty of Jundishapur University. Method: The quasi-experimental design was pre-test-post-test and follow-up in a threegroup randomized controlled trial (two experimental groups and one control group). From the statistical population of all undergraduate students in the Faculty of Rehabilitation, Jundishapur University of Shahr-e Ahvaz (1300-1499), 30 depressed students were selected by available sampling method and randomly divided into two experimental groups during 12 group sessions (under positive mindfulness treatment program). N = 10 axis and underwent cognitive-behavioral therapy program (n = 10) and control group (n = 10). The Ruminant Questionnaire (RRS), Nolen-Hoxma and Marlowe (1991), and the Reef Psychological Well-Being Questionnaire (2008) were administered to them. Findings: The results of repeated measures analysis of variance showed that both treatment groups had a significant effect on the improvement of rumination and psychological wellbeing (p <0. 01). Conclusion: Positive mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral mind therapy is an effective way to reduce rumination and increase psychological well-being in the treatment of people with depression.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of the current research is to provide a model to evaluate the professional capabilities of non-academic members of Azad universities in Tehran province. Method: The research method is a combination of qualitative and quantitative. The studied population includes all non-academic employees of Tehran province (3069 people) who were employed in university units in 1401. According to Morgan's table, 345 people were selected from the mentioned society. To prevent the possible drop in the sample size, 450 people were considered. A random sampling method was used to select the sample. For this purpose, 6 universities in the province were selected. The research tool includes a researcher-made questionnaire that includes 9 components. These components and their subsets were made in the form of a questionnaire,After collecting data using factor analysis and regression, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated as 0. 834 for its reliability. Findings: The findings of the research show that out of 53 sub-components related to the main components, 36 indicators have a significant correlation with all 9 components. Conclusion: The path analysis showed that the proposed model of 3 important factors including the stages of implementing the framework is meaningful (0. 90), having the right to choose (0. 92), being effective (0. 92), and the competence component in the job ( 0. 83) plays a negative role in increasing the professional capabilities of non-academic human resources.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate virtual education to promote students' learning quality of Islamic Azad University. Method: The present study is based on the purpose of the type-fundamental type and based on the type of data collected from the type of designs. The statistical society in the qualitative sector includes all the experts and experts professed in the field of research in higher education. To determine the samples and identify experts, a non-random sampling method was used. The statistical population in a quantitative section includes students of Islamic Azad universities in Tehran province. To determine the sample, a randomized cluster sampling method was used and the sample size was determined using the structural equation method. Two documents and field methods (exploratory interviews and researcher-made questionnaires) are used to collect data. The validity and reliability of the tools were measured and approved. The data analysis method in the qualitative section of theoretical coding was based on the theorizing method of the database. In a quantitative section, data analysis was performed in descriptive and inferential statistics (structural equation modeling. Findings: The results of factor analysis show that among indicators (indicators) Existing, 9 main dimensions are identified as axial phenomena. Based on the background of these dimensions, the intention of use, utility, efficiency, and effectiveness, the role of professors and students, the necessary infrastructure, the culture of virtual education, intention Continued use, ease of education and learning, and reduced educational costs.
