Background and aim: It is necessary to state total information about the design, procedures, intervention groups in study, results for data in order to present a suitable report of controlled randomized clinical trial. This study was aimed to evaluate the quality of materials and methods for the writings of final proposal in clinical trial studies in Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences. Methods: In this descriptive –analytic study, 53 approved final proposals of controlled randomized clinical trial studies in Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences were selected from 1998 to 2013. The selection and quality of material and method writing was evaluated based on final version of consort checklist. Results: The scores mean was obtained for the quality of materials and methods writings based on the checklist 6.75±1.92. The notation of interventions in each group (%96.2), identification of primary and secondary study (%88.7), and the state of statistical ways (% 86.8) showed the most scores and the randomizing the least score (%3.8). The projects which were the student theses rather than not being thesis (p=0.011).Conclusion: Performed clinical trials in Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences aren’t in a suitable report way. So, it is advised to provide a standard consort instruction and was delivered to researchers, reviewers, and statistical counselors in order to design study and report clinical trial studies.

Abstract:

Background and aims: Muscular tension and relaxation are common among patients following CABG (Coronary artery bypass graft) surgery. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of massage therapy on muscular tension and relaxation of patients after coronary artery bypass surgery. Methods: In this clinical trial study, 72 patients, who were underwent coronary artery bypass surgery in Isfahan Chamran Hospital were selected. Then, the patients were randomly assigned in two case and control groups. The patients of the case group (n=36) received light pressure stroking massage, from 3 to 6 days after the surgery. The patients in control group received only the routine care. Variables muscular tension and relaxation before and after the intervention was recorded in 1, 2, 3 days by the use of the visual analogue scale. Results: There was a significant differences in muscular tension levels before and after the intervention between case and control groups (p<0.001). Also, a significant differences indicated in relaxation levels before and after the intervention between case and control groups (P<0.001).Conclusion: The use of light pressure stroking massage therapy can decrease muscular tension and  increase relaxation of patients after coronary artery bypass surgery and due to low cost and simplicity of this method, it can perhaps be used as a complement to drug therapy and postoperative interventions used in these patients.

Background and aims: Non-adherence to treatment is a common problem among hemodialysis patients and was considered as a responsible factor in patients deteriorating, increasing admission chance and inappropriate responding to hemodialysis treatment. Regarding to multiple factors related to non-adherence to hemodialysis treatment and its importance in patients' quality of life, this study aimed to determine the treatment adherence condition among hemodialysis patients referred to Hajar Hospital, Shahrekord, Iran. Methods: In this descriptive analytic study, 71 hemodialysis eligible patients among 118 hemodialysis patients who referred to Hajar Hospital in Shahrekord, were selected according to goals center sampling method. The data were gathered by demographic, laboratory and end-stage renal disease adherence questionnaire (ESRD-AQ).Results: The mean score of adherence to hemodialysis treatment was 858.60 ± 192.45. Majority of patients had moderate adherence to hemodialysis treatment in four adherence dimension: medication (56.3%), diet (78.9%), fluid restriction (70.4%), and hemodialysis schedule (78.9%). Intradialytic weight gain was abnormal in 88.7% of patients. Furthermore, age and gender of patients had significant relationship with treatment adherence (P<0.05).Conclusion: Regarding to finding of this study, treatment adherence condition in hemodialysis patients referred to Hajar Hospital in Shahrekord is moderate and probably related to chronic nature, economic problem and their knowledge deficit of them. Therefore, paying more attention to causes of non-adherence to treatment in hemodialysis patients is necessary.

Abstract:

Background and aims: Since the nurses are as the most important members respondent to  team crisis, they must be able to have the necessary qualification and  capability  in a team frame for group work when they faced with crisis. This study was done to evaluate the capability of nurses when facing with crisis. Methods: In this descriptive analytical study, 35 nurses who had the experiences of presence and providing care in a disaster situation were enrolled by purposefully sampling. The data were collected through in-depth unstructured interviews and analyzed using a conventional content analysis approach. Results: The results, introduced knowledge of duties and organizational hierarchy and maintenance of unity of command in two category of capability in work for crisis group. “Obedience from commander”, “avoidance of doing in parallel”, and “coordination and cooperation with leader, relief forces, and other team members” were of the extracted competences in this study, which were highly important for teamwork in crisis. Conclusion: The analysis of participants’ viewpoints indicates that the nurses need to be completely familiar with their and other team members’ limitations and duties, to know managerial hierarchy, and to be able to maintain unity of commanding. Therefore, nurses’ in-service training to be prepared for response to crisis should address this dimension, as well.
