Abstract:

Background & Aims: Mothers with hospitalized neonates require holistic care, especially spiritual care. This study aimed to determine the effect of spiritual care based on the " Ghalbe Salim " model to mothers on some physiological variables of premature neonates admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Materials & Methods: Fifty mothers with premature babies were selected in two hospitals using convenience sampling methods. In the first step, one hospital was randomly determined as the control groupand the other as the intervention group. The intervention group received spiritual care based on the " Ghalbe Salim " model in 4 sessions. After each session, the neonate was given Kangaroo care. The neonates’,respiration rate, heart rate, and O2 saturation level were measured 10 minutes before, during, and after kangaroo care. In the control group, the mothers performed just kangaroo care and the data were collected from both groups after intervention. In the second step, the hospital of the control group became the intervention and the hospital of the intervention group became the control. Statistical tests including mann-whitney, chi square and repeated measures analysis were used. Results: In respiration and heart rates, no significant difference was reported between the two groups based on the time change pattern in each session and during the intervals among the sessions (P>0. 05). However, a significant difference was seen in oxygen saturation (P< 0. 05). Conclusion: The provision of spiritual care based on “, Ghalbe Salim”,model improved premature neonates' O2 blood saturation levels. Therefore, it is recommended to take advantage of its benefits on the physical health of neonates by providing spiritual care to the mothers with premature neonates.

Background & Aim: Excessive body movements or prolonged postures cause disorders in body systems including the skeletal system, and lead to complications such as pain, deformity, and dysfunction. Nurses are one of the vulnerable groups in this regard due to their work type. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders and some related factors in nurses of Ahvaz, Iran. Materials & Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, 196 nurses of teaching hospitals in Ahvaz were included into the study using by convenience sampling. After recording personal and occupational information, the spine was examined for kyphosis and lordosis abnormalities using a flexible ruler. Data were analyzed by SPSS software. Results: According to the results of the present study, among the studied nurses, 24 (12. 2%) had lordosis and 58 (29. 6%) had kyphosis. The prevalence of kyphosis and lordosis was not significantly different regarding weight, height, BMI, number of children, working hours per week, and workplace ward. The prevalence of kyphosis was not significantly different regarding gender and age, but the prevalence of lordosis was significantly different in terms of gender and age (p = 0. 05), and was significantly higher in women and older ages. Conclusion: Lordosis and kyphosis are prevalent in nurses of teaching hospitals in Ahvaz (with more prevalence of kyphosis than lordosis), so there is a need for more support, better working conditions, and the adoption of strategies to reduce occupational injuries.

Background & Aim: The health of pregnant women is of particular importance. Therefore, the present research was conducted to causal modeling of prenatal health behaviors based on social capital and cognitive-attentional syndrome with the mediation of mental fatigue perception in pregnant women. Materials & Methods: The research method was descriptive and based on structural equations. The study population included all pregnant women referred to health centers in Tehran in the fall of 2022. Two hundred and ten participants were selected by the convenience sampling method and participated in the study. The data were collected using Lobel et al. 's Pregnancy Health Behavior Scale (1995), Wells' Cognitive-Attention Syndrome Scale (2009), Enix and Bullen's Social Capital Questionnaire (2000), and Smets' Mental Fatigue Questionnaire (1996). The inclusion criteria included willingness to participate in the study, the age range of 18-45 years, having 6th grade or higher, not having any previous psychiatric history and especially mood disorders, and having a history of problematic childbirth and abortion. Exclusion criteria included any distortion of the questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSS 23 and Amos 18 software. The analysis of data was conducted using correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling. Results: The results showed that the causal model of the relationship between social capital, attentional cognitive syndrome, perception of mental fatigue, and pregnancy health behaviors was confirmed based on various fit indices. In addition, social capital and cognitive syndrome indirectly affected pregnancy health behaviors in pregnant women through the perception of mental fatigue Conclusion: Social capital and cognitive problems play important roles in health care in pregnant women, and targeting these two components in psychological treatments can effectively reduce health problems.

Abstract:

Background & Aims: The payment system based on diagnosis-related groups was created to control the costs of health care services, increase efficiency in inpatient care, and improve transparency in hospital activities. The success of this system depends on complete and accurate documentation of medical records and correct coding of diagnoses and procedures. This research aimed to determine the problems of documenting medical records to implement a payment system based on DRGs. Materials & Methods: This research was a qualitative study that was conducted using the semistructured interview method in 2022. The research population included experts in health information management and health economics at Urmia University of Medical Sciences, who were selected purposefully. Data analysis was done through content analysis using ATLAS. ti software. Results: From the point of view of the interviewees, the most important problems of documenting medical records in the implementation of DRGs, included the lack of clinical documentation guidelines, the lack of necessary information elements, the lack of accurate evaluation of the quality of documentation, and coding, the lack of continuous training courses, the incompleteness of documentation, and the lack of sufficient interaction between doctors and coders were in the hospital. Conclusion: The results of this research showed that some essential variables for implementing the DRGs system are not defined separately and clearly in the medical records and the hospital information system, and the quality of the documentation and coding is not accurate and complete. Therefore, it seems necessary to consider separate information elements for the main diagnosis, the main action, and the comorbidity and complications in the standard medical record forms.

Abstract:

Background & Aims: Fertility problems and adverse pregnancy outcomes increase in obese / overweight women. Because weight loss is not possible during pregnancy, pre-pregnancy period is the best time to intervene to lose weight. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of educational intervention based on the health belief model on weight management behaviors of women in the prepregnancy period referred to comprehensive health centers in Bukan city. Materials & Methods: This clinical trial study was performed on 68 women. Participants were selected by multi-stage sampling method and randomly divided into intervention and control groups. The pretest was done using a questionnaire for both groups. After implementing four educational intervention sessions based on the health belief model in the intervention group, the post-test questionnaire was completed one month and three months later in both groups. Data were analyzed in SPSS software ver. 17. 0 using descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and inferential (independent t-test, the chi-square test, and analysis of variance of repeated measurements) statistics. The p<0. 05 was considered significant. Results: Before the intervention, the groups had no significant difference in terms of demographic characteristics and the mean of the model constructs. There were significant differences between intervention and control group one month after intervention in terms of mean scores of perceived benefits, perceived severity, perceived sensitivity of practice guidelines, and self-efficacy (P<0. 05). The mean scores of all model structures in the two groups were statistically different three months after the intervention (p<0. 05). However, no significant difference was observed regarding the mean BMI of the women after intervention between the groups (p>0. 05). Conclusion: The health belief model is a suitable intervention model to change behaviors related to weight management of overweight/obese women in the pre-pregnancy period.

Abstract:

Background & Aims: Cancer, as the second cause of death in Iran, has claimed the lives of 79, 000 patients in just 2021. Although cancer mostly affects the life of involved person, but fighting cancer is a family matter, because this disease, with its challenging nature during the treatment period, also affects the lives of those who are responsible mostly for care. This study aimed to determine the effect of passive music therapy on the quality of life of family caregivers of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy referring to Imam Khomeini University Hospital at Urmia, Iran in 2022. Materials & Methods: This semi-experimental study was conducted with a pre-and post-test design without a control group using convenience sampling. Thirty family caregivers were entered in the study. The intervention consisted of passive music therapy with nature sounds along with moving pictures of nature, which was applied to the patient and his/her family caregiver two days a week for one month. The study tools used included demographic and quality of life questionnaires for family caregivers of cancer patients, which were completed by the subjects before and after the intervention. Data analysis was done using SPSS version 16 statistical software. A significant level of P<0. 05 considered as significant. Results: The results show a statistically significant difference in family caregivers' mean quality of life (P=0. 0001). In the subscales of the quality of life of the family caregiver, care burden (P=0. 0001), lifestyle disruption (P=0. 002), positive adaptation (P=0. 0001), and economic concern (P=0. 0001) were significant. Conclusion: The results showed that passive music therapy can be one of the low-cost, harmless methods that have an impact on the quality of life of family caregivers of cancer patients. In addition to the treatment of this incurable disease, passive music therapy can reduce the damage to their psyche and calm them and prevent the occurrence of underlying diseases.
