Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate Internet Affective Relationships Inventory (IARI). As the first step, 56 items were designed. Content Validity was evaluated by experts and it was acceptable. Construct validity was evaluated by factor analysis. Research participants were the students of Power and Water Industry University of Tehran in 1393-94 academic year. To conduct the study, using cluster sampling, 206 students of the above mentioned university were selected and were asked to complete the inventory. Factor analysis with Warimax and special value more than 1 showed 5 components: Confidence, Honesty, Enjoying, Tending to sex, and Virtual relationship preference. Inventory internal consistency with measuring of Cronbach’s alpha was 0.9 and for each component was at least 0.7 (between 0.704 and 0.842). Results revealed a sufficient Reliability and Validity for the Internet Affective Relationships Inventory (IARI). Therefore, this inventory is suitable tool for study of evaluating Internet Affective Relationships.

Abstract:

The purpose of this research was to assess the association between Bridging Social Capital and anxiety stigma with social anxiety students. This research was a correlation study. Statistical sample of this study includes 200 students of Payame Noor University that have been selected by cluster sampling and in several phases. The instruments used in this study were the Social Phobia Inventory (Connor, Davidson, Churchil, Sherwood, Foa & Weisler, 2001), Generalized Anxiety Stigma Scale (Griffiths, Batterham, Lisa & Parsons, 2011), and Bridging Social Capital Scale (Adibisadeh, Yazdkhastiy, Rabanieh khorasgani & Lotfizadeh, 2009). The data was analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that is positive relationship between subscale personal stigma and subscales perceived stigma anxiety illness. But the relationship between bridging social capital with social anxiety is negative and significant at the level of (0.05). So the results of multi-variable correlation coefficient with input method showed that the strongest variables in predicting social anxiety capital among of students are the subscale personal stigma, subscales perceived stigma anxiety illness and bridging social capital. There is a negative relationship between perceived stigma anxiety illness and bridging social but relation personal stigma anxiety illness with perceived stigma anxiety illness anxiety disorders is positive and significantly at the level of (0.05). Therefore, eliminating anxiety stigma and training Bridging Social Capital should be considered as part of the intervention in social anxiety.

Abstract:

The aim of this correlational study was to investigate the prediction components of alexithymia based on the dimensions of temperament and character of personality. The statistical population included all female teachers at the schools of Kermanshah city in 92-93 academic year. Using multistage cluster sampling method, 300 female teachers were selected and were asked to complete temperament and character inventory cloninger (1986), and Toronto alexithymia scale (Bagby, Parker& Taylor, 1994). The analysis Fundamental correlation coefficient showed that predictor variable could predict 45% variance of criterion variable, also the results of enter regression analysis showed that temperament dimensions of high harm avoidance, low dependence reward, and temperament dimension of low self-directed and self-transference are able to significantly predict components of alexithymia. Regarding with the current study findings, wecan argue that personality characteristics could affect individuals’ cognitive processing of emotional information and emotions regulation.

Abstract:

The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationships between prosocial moral reasoning and several prosocial behaviors, with controlling the effects of social desirability and lie/irrelative responding. One hundred twenty eight undergraduate students from Salman Farsi university of Kazerun responded to the Measure of Prosocial Moral Reasoning (Carlo, Eizenberg and Knight, 1992), Prosocial Tendencies Measure (Carlo and Randall, 2002) and Marlowe-Crowne social desirability scale (Crowne and Marlowe, 1960)). The effects of social desirability and lie/irrelative responding were controlled by the method of partial correlation. The relationships of total score of prosocial moral reasoning, the 5 types of prosocial moral reasoning, and also the 6 types of prosocial behaviors generally confirmed the findings of previous studies; although there were some discrepancies to them. Present investigation was a confirmation of past findings suggesting that different moral (prosocial) behaviors were differently related to moral (prosocial) reasoning.

Abstract:

The aim of the current study was to predict the death anxiety based on psychological hardiness and personality traits (five factors of personality) in Azad University of Kerman. The population of study included all students of Azad University of Kerman. Using random multi-stage cluster sampling, 380 students were selected. Research tool were Hardiness Questionnaire (K., 1999), NEO Personality Inventory dimensions (McCrae and Costa, 1992) and Templer Death Anxiety Inventory (1970). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis. The results showed a negative relationship between death anxiety with psychological hardiness, and with personality traits such as extraversion, flexibility, agreeableness, Conscientiousness. The findings also revealed a positive correlation between death anxiety with the personality trait of. Results indicated that psychological hardiness and personality traits predicted anxiety death.

Abstract:

Social anxiety can be affected by various factors. Present study aims to investigate the relation between personality traits and self-efficacy with social anxiety. The sample study consisted of 322 female and male students from the University of Kashan, who were selected by stratified sampling. To collect the data, Kannur Social Phobia Inventory (Conoor, et.all), NEO-Five factors questionnaire (Costa & McCrae, 1992), and (Sherer and Maddux, 1982) self-efficacy scale were used. To analyze the data, the mean, the standard deviation, Pierson Correlation Test and Stepwise Regression Analysis were calculated. According to the results, there are significant relations between personality traits and self-efficacy with social anxiety. The results of the regression analysis demonstrated that self-efficacy is the stronger predictor for social anxiety. Regarding with the interfering role of social anxiety in individuals’ educational, social and occupational performance, identifying and removing the factors underlying social anxiety is necessary to improve individuals’ social performance and mental health. The intervention programs such as workshops, specially in the fields of personality traits and self-efficacy, also could be very effective in improving of individuals’ mental health.

Abstract:

The main aim of the current study was to investigate the predicting role of Six- factor model of personality for personality disorders clusters and also to provide a scientific source for changes in the category approach of DSM. To conduct the study, using random sampling, 116 individuals with personality disorders who were referred to consulting centers of Ardebil city and had diagnosed as personality disordered by SCID-II structured interview, were selected and were asked to complete HEXACO Personality Inventory Revised. The collected data were analyzed by statistical method of discriminant analysis. The results showed that Emotionality, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness are the best predictors of personality disorder clusters. These variables also could discriminate the personality disorder clusters from each other, and place 56 percent of cases correctly in clusters. The necessity of controlling comorbidity in personality disorders for discriminating them based on dimensional approach, is discussed in this article.
