Abstract

The main aim of the current study was to investigate the predicting role of Six- factor model of personality for PERSONALITY DISORDERS clusters and also to provide a scientific source for changes in the category approach of DSM. To conduct the study, using random sampling, 116 individuals with PERSONALITY DISORDERS who were referred to consulting centers of Ardebil city and had diagnosed as personality disordered by SCID-II structured interview, were selected and were asked to complete HEXACO Personality Inventory Revised. The collected data were analyzed by statistical method of discriminant analysis. The results showed that Emotionality, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness are the best predictors of personality disorder clusters. These variables also could discriminate the personality disorder clusters from each other, and place 56 percent of cases correctly in clusters. The necessity of controlling comorbidity in PERSONALITY DISORDERS for discriminating them based on dimensional approach, is discussed in this article.
