Abstract: 

Introduction: Diabetes is among the most prevalent ingressive glands with severe side effects. So, experiencing it is a new phase in teenager's life, which requires the active involment of them in self care the Clinical and medical personnel need more information about diabetic teenager’s experience of their routine life. Therefore, the present qualitative study deals with the demonstration of diabetic teenager’s experiences.Methodology: This is a qualitative study with 14 diabetic teenager participants, ranging in age from 12 to 18, experiencing more than an year of diabetes. The study was conducted using a deep half-structural interview in a 45-90 minute period. The transcribed interviews were analyzed in a content analytic method.Results: Analyzing the data, seven main themes were extracted, including change in life-style, Insulin receiving problems, blood sugar change, fear of future, personal characterization, economical problems and dependency on family, and disease adaptation.Conclusion: The diabetic teenagers are the most important bodies in self-care to which, attention and understanding can be helpful to the optimized services of medical staff; the interaction between these people is fruitful in a social context.

Abstract: 

Introduction: psychological factors are among importants factors which lead in different interactions to stress and they can be the basis for several disease, including diabetes. One of the factors which has appealed attentions in recent centuries, is the aproroach of people on the events or the point of constrain. Therefore, the present study aims to compare the constrain points of type-2 diabetic patients and healty people.Methodology: Present study is of causal-comparative type. Statistical society include of all individuals with diabetes 2 and normal individuals in Shahrekord city. Research sampling include 100 (50 patients with diabetes 2 and 50 normal individuals) that sampling by available sampling method. Used instrument is Levinson locus of control questionnaire.Results: Result indicated there were significantly different in internal locus of control (f=8.64, p=0.006) between two group (patients with diabetes 2 and normal individuals). Also there were significantly different in external locus of control (f=19.08, p=0.001) between two group.Conclusion: The results of the Study show the extroversion of contrain point of diabetic patients, because of many health problems.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Diabetes is a chronic disease that causes progressive disability and precocious deaths. Factors such as genetic, immunological and environment are involved in diabetes mellitus. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between diabetes and blood groups.Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study that determined the blood group of 237 diabetic patients compared with 251 control subject.Results: Blood group of 237 patients included, 24.9% (59) A, 23.7 % (56) B, 6.3% (15) AB, 45.1% (107) O, and blood group of 251 subjects in the control group included, 63% (25) A, 69% (25.6) B, 18 % (06.8) AB and 101% (42.6) O.Conclusion: This study found no significant association between diabetes and blood group. The difference between the two groups in terms of Rh type was significant (P<0.0001).

Abstract: 

Introduction: Depression is one of the most prevalent mental disorders in patients with diabetes, which affects on cooperation in implementation of treatment measures, consequences of therapeutic and diabetes complications. Is thought, Low self-esteem is endangering balance of mental and emotional person and is caused development of depression. This study was performing with goal of comparison of self-esteem and diabetes complications in depressed and non-depressed patients with type 2 diabetes.Methodology: In this analytical study case-control with method of sampling of based on aim, 259 hospitalization diabetic patients (120 depressed patients and 139 non-depressed patients) were selected in teaching hospitals of Qom University of medical science. Data were collected by using demographic, Rosenberg self- esteem and Short form Beck Depression questionnaires and then computer software SPSS 18 was used for data analysis. Descriptive statistics, chi-square, independent t- test, spearman correlation tests were used.Results: Tests results showed that Age and blood sugar control had not significantly different between cases and controls (P>0.05), but economic status, marital status, duration, complications of diabetes (diabetic foot, amputation, and visual disturbances) and self- esteem between the two groups depressed and non-depressed patients with diabetes had significant difference (P<0.05). The mean self- esteem scores for non-depressed patients with diabetes were 24.07±3.65 and the depressed group was 18.45±4.51.Conclusion: Medium and low self-esteem and complication of diabetes among depressed diabetic patients were more non- depressed patients. According to results seem, assessment of depression and self- esteem patients is better, using for routine healthy assessment of diabetic patients and carry out privative and grouped implementation for groups of high risk, for decrease depression and promotion self-esteem patients. Recommended qualitative studies carry out for diagnosis infective factors on depression in additional survey affect program of promotion of self-esteem on depression this patients particularly high risk patients with longitudinal design.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Diabetes is the most common metabolic disease. Studies have shown that early detection and proper treatment of acute and chronic complications of Diabetes can be prevented. We conducted this epidemiologic study to determine the risk factors in patients with type 2 diabetes in Kashmar, to prevent the disease and its complications.Methodology: This cross-sectional study, were carried on 400 patients with type 2 diabetes (200 women and 200 men) who referred to internal clinic of Moddares Hospital in Kashmar respectively. Questionnaire was used and other data were collected. Height and weight measured using with standard methods and BP was measured twice using a standard mercury sphygmomanometer in the sitting position. Data analysis was performed by SPSS software.Results: The means of age, weight and blood pressure of subjects, were 57.19, 79.51 and 134.71 respectively. We found significant relation between complications, and factors such as smoking, (p=0.005), physical activity, (p=0.000), hypertension, (p=0.000), obesity, (p=0.009), and aspirin taking (p=0.000).Conclusion: The results showed, there are many amendable risk factors in patients with type 2 diabetes. It appears that preventing of disease and its complications, is based on the training of healthcare workers, patients, their families and finally community. Also individuals are at risk for diabetes should be screened to live more and have a healthy and better life.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common chronic medical conditions that effect on physical and psychotic dimensions of life quality. Sleep disorder is one of common problems in the patients that mutually influenced on life quality and incidence of diabetes. The aim of the study was to investigate sleep quality and quality of life in adults with type 2 diabetes, and to examine the relationships between these two parameters with biochemical variable of HbA1c and anthropometric variable of BMI.Methodology: This descriptive-correlation study was conducted on 110 eligible patients with type 2 diabetes seen at a diabetic's patient's community in Hamedan city. The subjects were selected through non-probability sampling by purposive method. Data collection instruments were Diabetes Quality of Life (SF-36) questionnaire modified, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire and HbA1c and BMI variables. Validity and reliability these questionnaires were confirmed in Iran. Data analysis was performed by SPSS version 12 and statistical methods of chi-square test, Pearson correlation index and linear regressions.Results: The results showed that more than 80% the participants have low sleep quality and quality of life sleep quality score of subjects was significant association with physical dimension of quality of life (P<0.05). Also was showed that BMI and HbA1c indexes in persons with poor sleep (global PSQI>5) are more than others.Conclusion: Low quality of life and poor Sleep quality in diabetic patients were increased attention of administrators with re-education programs of nurses and education of patients and it was situated in nursing care priorities.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a global public health issue that has a prevalence of between 5-8% in different parts of Iran. One of the most serious complications of diabetic foot ulcer and chronic complications of diabetes mellitus is one of the leading causes of Morbidity and amputation in patients with diabetes. On the other hand, amputations in patients with diabetes are three-year survival rate is only 50 percent. Hyperbaric oxygen a treat medical that the patient is in a closed chamber exposed to oxygen at 100 percent pure at a pressure higher than the pressure at sea (4.1 atm or higher) are placed. Patient can breathe pure oxygen that tissue levels and further increases healing. The purpose of this study, an overview of the use of hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of Diabetic foot.Methodology: Present study was done to review the literature in search of Persian databases such as (Iranmedex, SID, Magiran) and English databases such as (EBSCO, Pub med, ProQuest, Google Scholars) With Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and diabetic foot keywords related to the years 1987 to 2012.Results: Hyperbaric oxygen is beneficial for diabetic ulcers and Increases the oxygen level in tissue and healing mechanisms by angiogenesis, collagen synthesis, increase the response of fibroblasts, blood vessels and increases the antibacterial activity of leukocytes also has some side effects such as toxicity with oxygen in the brain and lungs, barotraumas of the middle ear, Myopia and seizures that for reduce the side effects is recommended that patients monitored by doctors and nurses who do Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.Conclusion: Results showed that hyperbaric oxygen may reduce the risk of major amputation and accelerates healing rate after one year but further studies should be treated in the clinical trials done to ensure greater accuracy as the standard treatment for hyper oxygen therapy in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers utilized.
