Abstract: 

2Introduction: Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the academic program and dealing with comparative studies can provide practical suggestions to the compilers of the educational programs so that they can develop or modify the educational program with a broader perspective. This study has been done with the purpose of descriptive and comparative comparison of the undergraduate nursing curriculum in Iran and the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and to provide suggestions for completing and improving the quality of the program. Methods: In this descriptive-adaptive study, two educational programs were described, interpreted, juxtaposed, compared, and analyzed using Bereday's four-stage model. Results: Nursing education in Iran has a long history. The nursing bachelor's program in Copenhagen, Denmark, is shorter than in Iran. The overall structure of the educational program of both courses is theoretical and clinical. In the educational program of Copenhagen, Denmark, to create a positive learning environment to acquire the cultural competence necessary to work in this profession, interprofessional interaction, internationalization, the ability to make independent clinical decisions in different situations, teamwork, and the development of nursing profession with a focus on technological developments has received more attention. Due to health tourism programs and the diversity of different ethnicities in Iran, less attention has been paid to preparing graduates to provide healthcare services for a multicultural society in order to provide appropriate community services. Conclusion: Knowledge of the strengths and educational experiences of Copenhagen University in Denmark can be helpful in improving the quality of nursing education in Iran. As a result, in this regard, it is suggested to pay attention to cultural competence, interprofessional interaction, group work, and educational development in line with technological developments, while reviewing the curriculum in terms of content.

Abstract: 

2Introduction: Covid-19 is a respiratory disease that was first identified in Wuhan, China. With the spread of the virus, the education system faced a completely new and huge crisis. Most of the schools from elementary to university were closed. The purpose of the study is to investigate the quality of virtual education from the perspective of Tabas Nursing Faculty students during the COVID-19 pandemic in 1399-1400. Methods:  This research is a cross-sectional descriptive study and the statistical population was 180 students of Tabas College of Nursing. The data measurement tool is a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of two parts: the demographic profile form and the second part of the education quality evaluation questionnaire, including 5 subscales (technology and infrastructure, access and ease, education, communication and satisfaction) and 31 indicators, where a 6-point Likert scale including completely disagree with a score of 1 and completely agree with a score of 6 was considered. For the validity of the study tool, CVR and CVI were used, then the reliability of the tool was calculated using Cronbach's alpha. Data analysis was done using SPSS version 22 software. A significance level of less than 0. 05 was considered. Results:  The total score of education quality was 108. 53 ± 30. 56 with a range of 31-186. The average quality of virtual training based on the Likert scale was 3. 60 with a standard deviation of 1. 01, which showed that the quality of virtual training was almost equal to the mean of the tool (3. 5). In terms of the average score of the total quality of education, it was higher than the mean of the tool. Conclusion: The quality of virtual education in the associate degree in emergency medicine compared to other bachelor's degrees in nursing and operating room has been reported at a favorable level. This method effectively increased the knowledge and attitude of students in different fields.

Abstract: 

2Introduction: The theory-practice gap is one of the critical problems of nursing. This gap can affect the quality of patient care. This study aimed to investigate the theory-practice gap and its associated factors in the view of nursing students.    Methods: A cross-sectional survey with census sampling was done on 179, 3rd to 8th semester, undergraduate nursing students of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences. A self-designed three-part questionnaire including "demographic characteristics", " theory-practice gap" and "factors associated with the theory-practice gap" was used. The data were analyzed by STATA version 12 using Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, Spearman's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis tests considering a statistically significant level of 0. 05.   Results: There was a significant relationship between factors related to instructors and semester (P=0. 0019). Spearman's rank correlation coefficient showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the gap and the total score of the factors (P=0. 0092, r=0. 1943). Multiple Regression analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between the theory-practice gap and factors related to hospital and clinical practice (P=0. 005), as well as factors related to educational planning (P=0. 000). Factors related to educational planning were the most important factor affecting the theory-practice gap. Conclusion: Considering the theory-practice gap from the viewpoint of students and the relationship between this gap and total score, it is necessary to apply appropriate strategies to reduce the theory-practice gap and revision of educational planning in order to avoid the gap generation and its complications.

Abstract: 

2Introduction: The first step for planning the training of nurses is to determine the priority of training needs. In fact, it is the first factor in creating and guaranteeing the effectiveness of training and improvement. The aim of this study was to determine the priority of in-service training courses of nursing at Babol University of Medical Sciences with a multi-criteria decision-making approach. Methods: This research is a cross-sectional study. 18 participants were included in the study by stratified random sampling method among nurses, nursing managers, supervisors and supervisors working in hospitals covered by Babol University of Medical Sciences. The details of all in-service training courses were collected using a questionnaire and 21 courses were identified after removing non-shared courses. After a literature review and semi-structured interviews, we identified 15 influential indicators for choosing these courses. Using a valid and reliable questionnaire, the pairwise comparison of these criteria relative to each other, as well as the pairwise comparison between the clases were done and then, applying the method of analytical hierarchy process, the ranking of courses was done based on both importance and necessity. Data analysis was done using Expert Choice-11 and SPSS-12 software. Results: The results show that patient safety courses (0. 078) and drug forms and how to prescribe them (0. 014) and also, patient safety courses (0. 091) and brain CT scan interpretation for nurses (0. 017), have the highest and lowest ranks based on importance and necessity, respectively. Conclusions: Although there is a slight difference in the rank of some of the identified courses, in general, the courses that get high ranks are almost the same in both cases (importance and necessity). Therefore, in order to create and guarantee the effectiveness of training and its improvement for nurses, the planners of in-service courses and the training supervisors can first rank the courses based on their importance and necessity and then organize the courses in order to be more practical, effective and affordable for nurses.

Abstract: 

2Introduction: Since each person has unique characteristics, his learning needs are also different. The first and most essential step in education is examining educational needs. This study aimed to determine the educational needs of operating room technologists in selected hospitals in Isfahan and related factors in the year 2021.   Methods: The data collection tool in this descriptive and analytical study was a questionnaire that included four areas of general and specialized knowledge, management of the surgical field, job motivation, and the need to hold comprehensive training courses for operating room technologists. These questionnaires were given to 50 operating room technologists, who were included in the study through convenient sampling, in the operating room where they worked. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive(mean and frequency) and analytical (Spearman and Chi-square) statistical tests using SPSS software version 16.   Results: 40 people completed the entire questionnaire. The average scores of needs assessment in the fields of general and specialized knowledge, management of the surgical field, and the need and interest in improving the level of knowledge, as well as the necessity of holding comprehensive specialized training and consulting courses for operating room technologists, respectively, are equivalent to 44. 37±6. 75(upper average need), 28. 50±6. 76(average need) and 9. 72±1. 93(upper average need). The average score of job motivation was also 17. 60±2. 55 (average upward motivation).   Conclusion: The average score of operating room technologists' need for training and elevation was higher in the field of general and specialized knowledge, and in this field, the need for training in ergonomics and anatomy is more than in other topics, and it is suggested to implement helpful training courses in these topics and following the field of operating room technology. Also, the results of examining their job motivation showed their relatively favorable motivation to perform assigned tasks, and they considered low salaries and long working times as factors that reduce their job motivation.

Abstract: 

2Introduction: Nurses play a vital role in the health care system of a country, Therefore, having moral principles and work conscience in nurses is one of the requirements of this profession. This study was conducted with the aim of comparing the effect of two educational methods on the ability to comply with ethical principles(work conscience)of nursing students in the Azad University of Najafabad and Isfahan(Khorasgan). Methods: The number of samples in the first part (retrospective-face-to-face training) was112students and in the second part(intermittent-virtual training)169 students had the conditions to enter the research. In order to collect information, a part of the reliable and valid questionnaire tool "Clinical Competence of Nursing Students in Internship period" by Jouzi and colleagues (2014) was used, which included the ethical dimension of clinical competence. SPSS 24 software was used for data analysis. Results: The results showed that there was no significant difference in the mean ability scores of the nursing students of Islamic Azad University of Najafabad and Isfahan(Khorasgan)in observing the ethical principles(p>0. 05)in the two courses of virtual and face-to-face training. Conclusions: The non-attendance training that was held in these universities during the covid 19 has been of high quality, so that the scores obtained from the assessment of clinical competence were not significantly different from the attendance period, which shows the professionalism and pioneering nature in these two universities in teaching virtual training method.

Abstract: 

2Introduction: Today, with the increase of chronic diseases, paying attention to the model of family empowerment is considered a basic pillar in the field of medical education, and the role of the family in supporting and caring for patients undergoing hemodialysis is important. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the consequences of family empowerment in hemodialysis patients using the family-centered empowerment model. Methods: The present study is an integrated review based on Russell's 5-stage model. All internal and external articles in the period from 2015 to 2022 that used the family-centered empowerment model and patients undergoing hemodialysis were searched. To find related articles in Persian language databases SID, Iran Doc and Magiran and English language, Pub med, Web of science, Scopus, and Google scholar scientific search engine with keywords " Hemodialysis Patients ", " Family centered care " and "family-centered empowerment" and the English words "Hemodialysis Patients", "Family-centered care" and "Family-centered Empowerment" "Chronic kidney disease" were searched. 30 articles were found in this field, and according to the purpose of the study, finally 8 articles were reviewed and analyzed. Data analysis was done according to Russe(2005). Results: The findings of the present study showed that the family-centered empowerment model among hemodialysis patients has been investigated in 9 studies and has had an impact on various dimensions of life of hemodialysis patients and their families, including quality of life, care pressure, self-efficacy, self-care, and resilience. Conclusion: The results showed that the implementation of the family-centered empowerment model had an impact on the various outcomes of hemodialysis patients, so it is suggested to try to improve the quality of life of patients and their families, reduce the care pressure of caregivers, and increase the self-efficacy and self-care of patients by implementing the family-centered empowerment model. It is also possible to take a step towards improving the health of these patients by teaching this empowerment method to the nurses of the hemodialysis department. ​

Abstract: 

2Introduction: Spine injuries are one of the most common health problems. Patients who undergo spine surgery experience severe pain, which can affect the results, complications, and patient satisfaction. One of the problems faced by patients who candidates for spine surgery is anxiety. Anxiety is known to be destructive factor in the treatment process, which, if controlled, can have a positive effect on the results of the operation and the patient's physical condition. One of the ways to reduce anxiety is the use of visual media such as educational films. The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of educational films designed on anxiety and awareness of spine surgery patients. Methods: This clinical trial study was conducted with the cooperation of 90 patients undergoing spine surgery at Peymaniye Hospital in 1399-1400. For the intervention group, an educational video was provided, and for the control group, routine training was provided on the day before the operation. Anxiety and awareness of both groups were checked before and after the study. Data were analyzed by spss22 software using independent t, Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon tests. Results: The average anxiety of all patients after the intervention in both the intervention and control groups was lower than before the intervention (p<0. 001). The average awareness of patients before and after showed a significant difference in the intervention and control groups,So that the average awareness of patients after the intervention in the educational and control film groups was higher than before the intervention (p<0. 001). Conclusion: The results showed that in the group where the training was done in the form of a video, because it is more understandable for all levels of education and can reduce the anxiety of the patients and increase the awareness of the patients after the operation, and the use of the educational video as a tool is less is recommended to be cost-effective and effective in education.
