The study was correlational descriptive and statistical population consists of elderly patients with Alzheimer's disease in Kermanshah in 2015, that 50 of them were entered to the study by convenience sampling method. Data collection tools in this study include Beck Depression Inventory (Beck, Ward, Mendelson, Mock, & Erbaugh, 1961), Holmes-Rahe stress scale (Holmes & Rahe, 1967), social support scale (Procidano& Heller, 1983) and Quality of life in Alzheimer's disease (QOL-AD., Logsdon, Gibbons, McCurry, & Teri, 1998). Results showed that there is a significant negative relationship between perceived stress and depression with quality of life of elderly patients with Alzheimer's disease (p<0.001). Also the results of entered regression analysis showed that perceived stress significantly predicted quality of life of elderly with Alzheimer’s disease (p<0.001). Present study showed the importance of determining factors of quality of life in elderly such as perceived stress and depression.

Abstract:

the mental health of elderly with substance use has ever been informed by various researcher of this branch. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of metacognitive therapy on cognitive regulation and attentional bias in elderly with substance use in Hamedan city. The method was quasi experimental pretest– posttest design with control group and data was analyzed with Covariance Analysis. Statistical population of this research consisted of all of elderly with substance use who refer to addiction treatment centers of Hamedan city. The sample was 40 elderly with substance use that were selected by multiple-stage cluster sampling method. participants were randomly assigned into experimental and control groups. Participants were asked to complete Stroop Color-Word Test (Bar-Haim, Lamy, Pergamin, Bakermans-Kranenburg, & Van Ijzendoorn, 2007) and cognitive emotional regulation questionnaire (Garnefski, Kraaij, & Spinhoven, 2002) and. Experimental group participated in 8 sessions (1 session a week) Metacognitive Therapy. Each session lasted for 60 minutes. Covariance analysis showed that there is a significant difference between mean scores of experimental and control groups (p<0.001). The results showed that cognitive regulation and attentional bias of elderly with substance use could be influenced by metacognitive therapy.

Abstract:

identifying the factors associated with mental well-being of the elderly is one of the favorite topics of aging psychology. The purpose of this study is the role of social support, spiritual well-being and self-efficacy in predicting subjective well-being of the elderly. This is structured based on descriptive method and is a correlational study, and the statistical population of it are all aged people in Shiraz. In this study, 350 older people aged more than 60 years were selected by random cluster sampling from different areas of Shiraz city to participate in the study. Social support questionnaire (Winefield, Winefield, & Tiggemann, 1992), spiritual well-being (Palvtzyn & Ellison, 1982), self-efficacy (scherrer et al., 1998), and subjective well-being (Gayyers & Margamyv, 2003) were used to collect information. The data using Pearson correlation coefficient showed meaningful and positive relationship between social support variables with each variable of spiritual well-being, self-efficacy and subjective well-being (P<0.001). Multivariate regression analysis showed that 85 percent of the variance in subjective well-being of the elderly is explained by the support of family and friends, religious well-being, self-well-being and self-efficacy. The results of this study had significant implications about the importance of independent variables in maintaining emotional, social and psychological well-being of the elderly.

Abstract:

each year hundreds of thousands of older persons are abused and neglected. Many victims are people who are older and vulnerable that cannot help themselves and depend on others to meet their most basic needs. This study aimed to investigation the mediating role of elderly abuse in the relationship between generativity and ego-integrity. For this purpose 113 elder people were selected using convenient sampling method. The tools used in this study included domestic elder abuse questionnaire (Heravi-Karimooi, Rejeh, Frooghan, & Montazeri, 2011) Loyola Generativity Scale (LGS., McAdams & de St. Aubin, 1992) and Ego-Integrity Measurement (EIM., Ryff & Heincke, 1983). In order to analyze of data wereused pearson’s correlation and path analysis. Findings indicated that there’s correlation between general score of neglect and subscales of financial abuse, psychological abuse, and financial neglect with perception of generativity. Also, there is correlation between ego-integrity and general score of elderly neglect and subscales of financial abuse, limited authority, rejection, and emotional neglect. Elderly abuse could play a mediating role in relationship between generativity and ego-integrity. It can be said that the role of environmental factors is important in transition from midlife to oldage.

Abstract:

in the current study, the relationship between Life Management Strategies of selection, optimization, and compensation (SOC), and healthy lifestyle (As the Original Indicator of Successful Aging) have been investigated. The participants consist of 300 people (154 male, and 146 female) lived in Hamedan City who have been Chosen by Multiple-Stage Cluster sampling method. To evaluate Life Management Strategies, SOC questionnaire (Baltes, P., Baltes, M., Freund, & Lang, 1999), and for evaluate healthy lifestyle, Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile (HPLP-II) (Walker & Hill-Polerecky, 1996) have been used. To analyze data, Pearson Correlation and Hierarchical Regression Analysis have been run. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between SOC Life Management Strategies and healthy lifestyle (as this study expected, SOC Life Management Strategies have a positive relationship with healthy lifestyle). But SOC Life Management Strategies could only predict the sub-field of health-responsibility of healthy lifestyle. Also, Compensation could only predict the sub-field of health-responsibility of healthy lifestyle. The results of the study have been discussed in the grounds of health promoting models and personality Characteristics models.

Abstract:

there is established relationship between quality of life of and subjective wellbeing and mental health in elderly people.the purposes of this study was to investigate the effect of improving quality of life on positive affectivity on elderly women in Kermanshah. The method was quasi-experimental whit pretest-posttest and control group. The sample selected From 214 women that were a member of the Farzanegan daily elderly center in Kermanshah.30 qualified women who were matched selected by using cluster sampling and then assigned to two experimental and control groups randomly (n=15). Older people who were in the experimental group receive quality of life therapy Intervention (one session per week).and control group did not. Demographic questionnaire, and positive and negative affectivity scale (Watson, 1991) were completed by members of the experimental and control groups in the pre, post and follow-up test. The results obtained from covariance analysis indicated that quality of life therapy is effective on positive and negative affectivity in elderly women(P≤0.005). The two-month follow-up test showed that intervention Achievements to increase positive affect and lower negative affect is maintained. Therefore it is recommended that this treatment can be used as a Supportive therapy by psychologists and Aging medicine practitioners.
