Abstract: 

Purpose: The main objective of this study is to identify the most important models and indicators for evaluation of science and technology in knowledge-based companies in Iran. Methodology: This study is done based on documentary and survey procedures, and the main part of the data of this study was gathered and provided through Delphi interview. Validity and reliability of the questionnaire was evaluated. The sample consists of 14 experts in this subject area. Findings: Through univariate t-test, the most important models in the evaluation of science and technology were examined. In identifying the most important indicators by using the model of evaluation of micro science and technology in Iran, 5 sections of human, financial, structural, functional, and productivity indices were surveyed. Conclusion: Based on average ratings, the most important models for measuring science and technology and suitable assessment and evaluating of the performance of science and technology of knowledge-based firms are "composite index of knowledge economy and knowledge", "composite index of access to technology, " "analytical framework to assess the level of technological capability, " "science and technology indices of UNESCO, " and "micro-evaluation indices of science and technology". The most important indicators were also presented separately in five groups.

Abstract: 

Purpose: Science and production is a consequence of research which is the main duty of universities and research centers. There are indicators which determine the differences among countries. Measuring and assessing research results offer suitable techniques for financial and organizational planning. The aim of this study is to determine the extent of science poverty of Islamic countries in medical sciences. Methodology: The research method is descriptive-applied and scientometrics indicators have been used. Research data extracted from the Web of Science Database in May 2014. The research community consisted of all scientific products of the Islamic countries in the field of medical sciences from 1978 to 2014. Findings: findings showed that Turkey ranked first with publishing 172072 documents and 41. 62 scientific competency, Egypt ranked second with publishing 30208 documents and 7. 31 scientific competencies, Saudi Arabia ranked third with publishing 29117 documents and 7. 04 scientific competencies, Iran ranked fourth with publishing 27799 documents and 6. 72 scientific competencies. Conclusion: Results showed that the contribution of Islamic countries-as a group of developing countries-in the field of medical sciences is very low compared to the total scientific output of the world, and these countries need harder work. Despite all efforts made so far, we need more attention and scientific products in this area.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The present research was conducted to study the co-authorship network of faculty members in the field of education in public universities of Tehran and reviewing their authorship patterns in 199 articles published in non-Iranian journals and indexed in Web of Science and Scopus databases up to March 2017. Methodology: This study was conducted using a scientometric approach and social network analysis. Configuration of the co-authorship network for the publication of international papers was investigated using macro indicators of network analysis such as density, clustering coefficient, mean distance, connectedness and diameter of the network and for analyzing the performance of each faculty member with a compilation in the network, the micro indicators of the analysis of networks such as degree centrality, betweenness, closeness, and Eigen vector were utilized. To analyze and draw information obtained from the network, UCINet software and its complementary package NetDrew were used. Findings: The pattern of three authorship has been the most important collaborative pattern in the articles studied (%30). The network is composed of 106 nodes and 41 ties. The study of micro indicators showed that individuals such as Abbas Abbaspour, Khosrow Bagheri, Ali Delavar, Hasan Maleki and Ismail Zarei With the highest degree of scientific collaboration with other writers, they are the most participant in the network. The analysis of macro indicators also showed that the density of the mentioned network was 0. 05, so the network did not have sufficient Cohesion.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The aim of this research is to survey the impact of knowledge sharing in ResearchGate scientific network on researchers’ productivity indicators in Google Scholar (H-index and i10 index). In this regard, the predictive power of researchers' productivity indicators in the Google Scholar has been investigated through metrics of the ResearchGate (RG Score, impact point, views and download). Methodology: This study is original in terms of objective and data gathering. The study adopted a descriptive method with webometrics approach. The population of this study consisted of authors of the most cited articles in the physics and space sciences fields that were indexed in Scopus during 2005-2014. The authors were members of ResearchGate and had profiles in google scholar. The first 200 articles based on citation were selected as the sample. The data were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression. Findings: The results showed that among ResearchGate indicators, download had a significant positive relation with H-index so that the regression model was significant. Download variable had the ability to predict researchers’ H-index. However, the regression model for i10 index was not significant and none of the predictor variables had the ability to predict i10 index. Conclusion: Greater knowledge sharing by researchers through scientific social networks such as ResearchGate may increase the probability of visibility, hence an increase in download counts. Downloading and studying the scientific works of researchers can lead to the use of that work and thus increase productivity indicators of the researchers.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The main purpose of this research is to investigate the co-authorship status of the articles published in the scientific journals of the Iranian Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO) during 2010-2014. Methodology: This is an applied scientometrics research that was carried out using library methods and co-authorship analysis. The statistical population of the study consisted of 4684 articles in the 31 scientific journals published in the AREEO during the years 2010 to 2014. Findings: The results showed that for the 4684 articles, 8579 authors from 42 countries cooperated. The tendency of most writers to co-authorship and scientific collaboration with 4299 articles (92%) are co-authored and 385 articles (8%) are provided individually. From the collaborative's articles, 3-author articles with a frequency of 1351 (29%) have the highest number and 8-author articles with a frequency of 17 (less than one percent) have the smallest number of articles. Conclusion: Most of the authors of the articles are oriented toward co-authorship and the pattern of 3 writers is the most common model of co-authorship. The average of the co-authorship ratio of the authors was calculated using the formula for determining the co-authorship coefficient and the number of 615% was obtained, which indicates the appropriate status of team collaboration among the authors.

Abstract: 

Purpose: Using the reputation of the original journal, Internet fraudsters launch websites that are similar to the website of reputable journals to attract scholars. The purpose of this research is the webometrics study of the original and hijacked journal websites for identifying the main websites of journals. Methodology: This is a descriptive study in which, the list of hijacked Journals was first extracted from the Iran’ s Ministry of Science website, the 10 main websites of the journals, along with its hijacked websites. Then the relevant data were collected using the Google search engine and MOZ. Findings: The webometrics score of inlinks and rich files in the original journal websites has been higher than hijacked ones. Except for Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Journal and JKULL journal, the size and Google Scholar indicators were higher in hijacked websites respectively. In webometrics ranking, the original journal websites were much higher than their hijacked websites. Conclusion: The Webometrics ranking of the original journal websites were higher than hijacked web sites. Therefore, webometrics approach can be used as detector for the original and hijacked websites of scientific journals.

Abstract: 

Purpose: Using a co-word analysis, this study tries to map the intellectual structure of Quran and Hadith Studies in Iran based on the records in the Islamic World Science Citation Database (ISC) during the years 2006 to 2015. Methodology: This is a scientometric applied research which uses co-word analysis. The research population consists of 3638 articles published in the journals of Quran and Hadith category indexed in ISC database. SPSS, BibExcel, UCInet and VOSviewer are among the software that were used for analyzing and preparing data and drawing maps in this research. Findings: Results indicated that keywords “ Quran” , “ Nahj al-Balaghah” and “ Imam Ali” are the most frequent keywords in Quran and Hadith Studies. Moreover, “ Nahj al-Balaghah***Imam Ali” is the most frequent co-word pair. Findings showed that in the study period (2006-2015), 11 clusters are formed in Quran and Hadith Studies. Also, based on the results of strategic diagram, the matured and well-developed clusters in Quran and Hadith Studies were identified. Conclusion: The lack of some Quranic key concepts such as Islamic ethics, philosophy and schools of Islamic philosophy, and the prophetic soul may indicate the fact that Quranic researchers have paid little attention to the mentioned areas.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to map and study the cognitive structure of the field of Knowledge and Information Science from the perspective of full text words or phrases, their distribution in journals, and their usage over time. Methodology: This study used the content analysis of 6830 articles (2004-2013) in 10 core journals based on the JCR 2013. Parametric way of key extraction has been used to select 150 words and phrases according to their TF-IDF weight. Finally, the similarity matrix based on the Cosine theta index and the second-order affinity, was used to construct hierarchical clustering by average-linkage algorithm in "Provalis Research" software. Also, correspondence analysis was used to study concepts historic evaluation and to cluster the journals according to their subject domain. Findings: The results of this study included 3 mature clusters, 1 semi-mature cluster and 3 immature clusters in co-word analysis and the thematic review reveal four clusters of journals and two time clusters in clockwise motion layout. Conclusion: The results show that scientific publications have some well-established topics which are changing gradually to adopt new themes. These change in the cognitive landscape is based on the advent of Internet in the first time cluster while in the second cluster it is due to the use of indices.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The present research intends to analyze and construct the networks of co-authorship in the research domain of chronic cardiovascular failure based on the centrality indicators of social network analysis. Methodology: This applied research has been conducted using the common methods in scientometrics through co-authorship and network analysis methods. The research community included 11967 documents in the topic of “ chronic heart failure” indexed in the category of “ cardiovascular systems” at Web of Science during 2000 to 2015. The authors with 15 articles, at least, were considered. Overall, 473 top authors were identified in this domain, analyzed through BibExcel and UCINET, and the networks were illustrated with VOSviewer. SPSS® was utilized to test the hypotheses. Findings: The findings show that Anker SD is the most active and cited researcher in the domain of chronic heart failure. Voors AA and vanVeldhuisen DJ have the highest paired co-authorship among the writers in the domain of chronic heart failure. The highest rate of scientific collaboration stands among the researchers in Italy and the U. S. A.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The aim of the present paper was to study the quantitative status of the theses and dissertations in humanities education with an Islamic approach at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 4 colleges including Letters and Humanities, Theology, Administrative and Economic Sciences, Education and Psychology, in a 31-years period (1984-2014) to determine the role of this university in science products with Islamic approaches. Methodology: This study was an applied research and was done by scientometrics methods. The research population consisted of all theses and dissertations in the field of humanities with an Islamic approach in the mentioned areas and period. There was no sampling in this study and all theses and dissertations with an Islamic approach were studied in four mentioned colleges. Findings: The results showed that during this period, 1201 theses and dissertations with Islamic approach were registered at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad among which the field of jurisprudence and Islamic law with 341 items had the highest frequency, and English language and literature and French language and literature, each with 5 items, the least numbers. Among the academic areas, the Faculty of Theology had the most contibution, and the Faculty of Education and Psychology had the least contribution in the production of theses and dissertations with Islamic approach. 1072 items were produced by Master’ s and 129 items were produced by PhD students. Among the identified issues, the subject of the Quran, criminal law (jurisprudence) and Quran interpretations were identified as top issues. The average annual growth in the production of theses and dissertations in humanities with an Islamic approach was equal to 44. 35%. According to an annual growth rate of 32. 83% of the whole theses and dissertations in the areas of humanities education, this rate was much more. Out of 210 scientific papers extracted from identified theses and dissertations, 133 items were produced by M. A. and 77 by PhD students. Finally, the scientific map of detected Islamic theses and dissertations was drawn and analyzed using Vosviewer application. The results showed that the scientific map of theses and dissertations with Islamic approach in the mentioned population, based on the analysis of the co-vocabulary was composed of seven thematic clusters. The type of the co-vocabulary network was also continuous. Based on hierarchical clustering, 23 thematic clusters identified from which Quran identified as root and 22 other clusters were located in the heart of it.
