Abstract: 

Aims: The aim of the present study was to examine the role of relational maintenance behavior and attachment style in predicting marital commitment. Method: The statistical population was all people married in Tehran city that 372 married people (233 women and 139 men) were selected by multiple cluster sampling. The data collection instrument was Relational maintenance behavior measure (Stafford, Dainton, & Haas, 2000), Adult attachment questionnaire (Hazan, & Shaver, 1987), and personal commitment subscale from The Investment Model Scale (Rusbult, Martz & Agnew, 1998). Result: The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between subscale assurance, openness, conflict management, share task, positivity, advice, and secure attachment with marital commitment and there is a significant negative correlative between avoidance and anxiety attachment style with marital commitment. Also, multiple regression analyses showed that four subscales relational maintenance behavior (assurance, openness, conflict management, and positivity) and attachment style (secure, avoidance and anxiety) can predict marital commitment (P=0. 05). Conclusion: According to these findings, can conclude that relational maintenance behavior and attachment style impact marital commitment.

Abstract: 

Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Prevention and Relationship Education Program (PREP) on Communication Beliefs. Method: The research method was quasi-experimental with experimental group and control group, pre-test, post-test, and two-month follow-up and the statistical population of this study was couples who referred to Mehravar counseling center in Tehran during the period of November and December 2019 who referred to the counseling center. 20 couples were selected by the purposeful method and were divided into experimental (10 couples) and control (10 couples) groups. Replaced at random. The experimental group received weekly intervention in 8 sessions of 90 minutes. Both groups were evaluated in three stages of pre-test, posttest, and follow-up by the marital communication beliefs scale. Data were analyzed using repeated-measures ANOVA. Results: The results showed that the effect of intervention prevention and relationship improvement program on communication beliefs (F= 27. 23, P= 0. 001), dissociative component of dissent (F= 18. 20, P= 0. 001), spouse invariance (F= 23. 73, P= 0. 001), Expectation and expectation component of mind reading (F= 28. 94, P= 0. 001), component of sexual perfectionism (F= 25. 63, P= 0. 001), and gender inequality component (F= 17. 03, P= 0. 001) are effective and this effect 01 stable at follow-up. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that the enrichment of marriage based on PREP is a prerequisite for reducing marital couples' ineffective communication beliefs. Therefore, it is recommended to emphasize the importance of family enrichment programs and marriage prevention and relationship improvement programs in couples.

Abstract: 

Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of premarital skills training model on saving your marriage before It Starts (SYMBIS) on patterns and damages of engagement couples. Method: The research method was quasi-experimental with experimental group and control group, pre-test, post-test and three-month follow-up and the statistical population was 44 couples referring to Shahid Beheshti University Counseling Center in 2018. From this community, 20 couples were selected by purposeful sampling and randomly assigned 10 couples in each of the two experimental and control groups. The research instrument was a Questionnaire Evaluation and Measurement Patterns and premarital damages Rostami, Navabi Nejad and Farzad's (2019) as well as a premarital skills training program based-model on SYMBIS Parrott and Parrott (2016). Data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance. Results: Results show the effect of pre-marriage skills training based-model on Symbis on dysfunctional communication patterns (F= 7. 7, P= 0. 009), ineffective relationship management patterns (F= 6. 91, P= 0. 013), improving couples' value system (F= 4. 54, P= 0. 040), Schema mentality (F= 4. 49, P= 0. 040), and damaging effects of the core family (F= 10. 62, P= 0. 003) and This effect was sustained at the follow-up stage. Conclusion: Since teaching marriage consolidation model on saving your marriage before It Starts to identifying dysfunctional communication patterns and modifying these patterns and increasing relationship management skills, it can be used to improve patterns and reduce marital harm.

Abstract: 

Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of short-term strategic family therapy on marital conflicts. Method: The present study was a semi-experimental one with experimental, control and pre-Test and follow up were two months. The statistical population of this research includes couples who come to the consulting center of oil and gas engineering company, 45 of whom were referred to this center due to marital and familial problems. After matching the subjects, the inclusion and exit criteria of the study were purposefully selected by 20 couples and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. In this study, 10 couples (20 people) were in the experimental group and 10 couples (20 people) were in the control group. The experimental group received 90 minutes of treatment after 8 pretests; but the control group did not receive any treatment after the pre-test. Both groups were evaluated in three stages of pre-test, post-test and 2-month follow-up by the mentioned questionnaires. Repeated measurement analysis of variance test was used to analyze the data. Results: The results showed that short-term strategic family therapy had an effect on improving the conflicts of couples participating in post-test and follow-up (F= 5. 92, P= 0. 005). Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that shortterm strategic family therapy, in addition to improving the level of couple adjustment, has also led to a reduction in conflict.

Abstract: 

Aim: The purpose of the present study was to provide a model of the lived experience of successful men. Metod: This research was conducted in a qualitative manner using the data theory method. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling method and until reaching theoretical saturation, finally, 15 successful men were interviewed semi-structured and analyzed using Charms (2014) method. Results: In the first step, the educational components of successful men in six categories of family value system, cognitive flexibility, optimal functioning, authoritative parenting style, powerful parenting, and positive management of parent-child relationships were extracted as the main axis and in the second step, four components of family and individual factors, Social and educational were identified as the main axes of the root of training successful men. In the third step, two important sources of growth history and constructive lifestyle were identified as the underlying mechanisms for success. Conclusion: In order to provide the grounds for successful upbringing in children, parents need to pay attention to the principles and methods in upbringing and its requirements, and according to them, to address the important issue of raising children.

Abstract: 

Aim: The purpose of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of schema therapy and imago relational therapy on the fear of marriage and attitudes about romance and mate selection in girls. Method: The sample was purposefully selected from single female students of Tehran universities. With a public call to participate in the study, 44 single female students were asked about the attitude-choosing questionnaire of Cobb, Larson, & Watson (2003) and fear of marriage Samiei, Yousefi, and Neshat Doost (2013) answered that 36 girls were selected from among them and randomly replaced in two experimental groups: schema therapy (12 girls), experimental group, immunotherapy (12 girls) and control group (12 girls). Both experimental groups underwent the intervention of Young, Klosko & Weishaar (2003) Schema Therapy for 8 90-minute sessions, and Hendrix Imagotherapy (2008), and the control group did not receive any intervention. Data were analyzed using repeated-measures analysis of variance. Results: Results showed that the effect of schema therapy intervention on spouse choice (F= 29. 75, P= 0. 001) and fear of marriage (F= 12. 14, P= 0. 004) and imagotherapy intervention on spouse choice (F= 28. 51, P = 0. 002) and on fear of marriage (F= 14. 48, P= 0. 003) and this effect was sustained at follow-up. Conclusion: The results of the present study provide evidence that schema therapy and imago therapy are appropriate methods for reducing the fear of marriage and attitude toward spouse selection.

Abstract: 

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of teaching mindfulness techniques on happiness, mental well-being, and rumination of single girls. Method: The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design with a control group and a two-month follow-up test. The statistical population of this study was 30 single girls Over 30 years’ years who referred to Mehrsa and Jiran counseling centers in Sanandaj in the period from October to November 2016 and were randomly selected in two experimental groups (15 girls) and a control group. (15 girls) were replaced. For the experimental group, the intervention method of mindfulness techniques was performed for 8 sessions of 90 minutes and the results were analyzed using repeated-measures analysis of variance. Results: The results showed that training mindfulness techniques reduces rumination (F= 17. 77, P= 0. 001) and increases mental well-being (F= 16. 12, P= 0. 001) and happiness (F= 16. 89, P= 0. 001) was in the experimental group and these results were stable at the follow-up stage. Conclusion: The mindfulness treatment approach can be used as an appropriate intervention to promote the happiness of young girls in adapting to living conditions and reducing the psychological effects of celibacy.
