Abstract: 

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the supply chain resilience of Electric Power industry in Iran using fuzzy approach. The research is based on a survey of 23 experienced managers and experts in electricity industry having MA, MS or PhD degrees in Management, Electrical Power and Industry Engineering. Questionnaire data was used to assess the resilience status of Electric Power Industry in Iran. According to the results the overall score of electricity industry resilience is 49. 78 out of 100. Resilience of Electric Power industry in Iran from different aspects of procedures and processes, peripheral elements, agility, players, flexibility, and economic factors is scored 53. 495, 52. 78, 52. 025, 49. 7625, 46. 68, and 44. 975, respectively.

Abstract: 

The identification of the most important factors affecting energy intensity with the aim of controlling and managing energy consumption is an important topic. Findings of different empirical studies on the factors affecting energy intensity are inconsistent and this raises uncertainty about the employed models. One of the techniques that conform to these uncertainty conditions of the model is the Bayesian averaging approach. The purpose of this study is to identify robust and fragile factors affecting energy intensity in Iran provinces over the period from 2008 till 2015 using Bayesian averaging approach. The studied variables are selected from among the economic, demographic, industrial, commercial, transportation, Energy sector, factors related to Knowledge-based economy and climate factors. 24 variables were reviewed and by assessment of more than 8 million regressions and Bayesian averaging of the coefficients, 9 variables were identified as the most affecting factors on energy intensity in Iran provinces; share of service sector in production, ratio of export to production, share of oil and petroleum products in energy consumption, income per capita, energy price, number of warm months, per capita capital of employed persons, number of cold months and population growth rate. It was also revealed that per capita income, share of service sector in production, share of oil and petroleum products in energy consumption, energy price and number of warm months have negative effect on energy intensity but other robust variables increase energy intensity. These findings can provide important policy recommendations, especially for the use of energy planners and policy makers.

Abstract: 

In the current unstable business environment, it is necessary to change the organization's strategy in a way that organizations can adapt to the new conditions. To cope with these changes, the organizations need features called dynamic capabilities. In multi-business organizations, portfolio strategies are formulated, implemented and controlled for the strategic management of the diverse business. Given the importance of the dynamism of the portfolio strategies, the aim of this study is to identify dynamic capabilities for the formulation and implementation of a portfolio strategy on the Iranian downstream oil and gas industry. so one of the Iranian petrochemical holdings is investigated with a case study research strategy. The data was gathered by interview and review of organizational documents. The most important dynamic capabilities are the management of social obligations, environmental management, partnership with the world's top petrochemical companies, the evolution of the value chain, and the management of downstream ecosystems.

Abstract: 

The main aim of this paper is to evaluate the energy efficiency in 30 provinces of Iran by applying the different methods of DEA and Anderson and Peterson during the period of 2009-2013. Also, since classical analysis models do not differentiate efficient cases, the AP method (Anderson-Peterson) was used to rank efficient units for evaluating efficiency correctly. So that combination of input variables (including total energy consumption, labor, capital stock, fossil fuel consumption and renewables consumption) and economic outputs (including GDP, Industry, value-added and services), has been used. The main empirical results of present study indicate that efficiency scores for models that consider total energy consumption and economic outputs in a comprehensive manner ((model M4) compared to simpler models that consider only aggregate energy and GDP data) are higher. In addition, assessment Malmquist index (MI) among Iranian provinces indicate that the efficiency in the Isfahan, Tehran, Bushehr, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Khuzestan, Qazvin, Markazi, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad and Hormozgan provinces is improved. In addition, the results of this study can significantly help policymakers in decision-making process, for example, observations indicating that the change in the economic structure leads to efficiency improvement or the fact that the use of renewable resources should be gradually replaced the fossil fuel consumption, can lead to the adjustment of the Supportive policies from specific economic sectors or the expansion of specific energy sources.

Abstract: 

Nowadays, the high rates of energy consumption of buildings in contemporary societies, as well as in global problematics such as climate change, depletion of natural resources and environmental pollution, is widely recognized. In this context, energy efficiency of buildings has become a crucial aspect of national and international energy policies. Nevertheless, the design of high performance buildings is not a simple assignment, because they represent complex systems that have to fulfill multiple goals, often contradictory such as minimum energy consumption versus maximum thermal comfort, minimum energy consumption versus minimum carbon emissions. The research aims to propose a simulation-based multi-objective optimization method to improve the energy efficiency, comfort and environmental performance of high-rise office buildings in Tehran during the early architectural design process. The parametric project includes 7 design variables including: Building Shape, orientation, WWR, Floor Height, Glass Type, Wall Insulation and Thermal Mass. Among the conclusions, WWR, Glass Type and Building Shape are the most influential design variables and Wall Insulation and Thermal Mass are the least important variables on performance objectives. Also rectangular shape building with southern orientation and 25% WWR Triple-glazing can be considered a good overall choice for high-rise office building in Tehran.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study is to assess the possibility of generating energy from waste and reducing the consequences of unconventional waste disposal in urban areas of Mashhad. The findings indicate that among five variants under study, variant 5 which allocated the highest energy efficiency, the lowest costs, and the least amount of greenhouse gases to itself was applicable for the city of Mashhad. Accordingly, in the first step, it is possible to propose a 1200 kilowatt power plant for the city of Mashhad in order to convert about 150 tons of waste daily. The estimated cost of running these facilities is about 150 billion Rials. This cost will be depreciated over a period of less than 5 years and will come to net profit. The sensitivity analysis by the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) parameter showed that with a reduction of 4% of sales revenue, the IRR would reach to 20. 93%. Similarly, with a 4% decrease in the fixed assets and operating costs, the internal rate of return will reach to 23. 13% and 22. 88%, respectively.

Abstract: 

The southern wall plays an important role on heating perfrmance and energy consumption of residential buildings. This study investigates the effects of southern wall angle, glass area and external canopy on heating perfrmance and energy consumption of a typical residential building in Yazd. Using causality method and thermal simulation by DesignBuilder simulator, we examined energy consumption in 33 situations under differnt angles of southern wall (from zero to 60 degrees), and under different glass areas on the surface. According to the results a southern wall with a maximum glass area, with external retractable canopy and with an angle of 15º , would reduce daily heating requirment and energy consumption of the residential building by 43% and 17% from 8 to18 o'clock, respectively. These figures would decrease to 9. 1%, 6. 7% respectively, for the whole day.
