Abstract: 

Among the prevalent topics in Knowledge and Information Science, the scientometrics studies are of special interest. Applying cocitation analysis, this study investigated the landscape of research in scientometrics and related metric areas and revealed the fundamental themes of it. The initial data of this study (including scientometrics-related documents) have been extracted from the Web of Science. Following the analysis of author co-citation frequency, correlation matrix, and dendrogram, results indicated that the co-citation pairs of “ Garfield-Moed” , “ Egghe-Rousseau” , and “ Egghe-Hirsch” received the highest frequency among other pairs. Moreover, using hierarchical clustering led to the tracing primary themes in scientometrics research. One of interesting findings in this research is a researcher named “ Kousha” which has made a crucial rule in the development of webomtrics’ cluster.

Abstract: 

The current study aimed to develop strategies to improve knowledge sharing on online scientific social networks by identifying incentive and disincentive factors that have effects on willingness to share knowledge. Applied research was used to collect data using cluster sampling. The study population consisted of Shiraz University and Persian Gulf University faculties. A sample of 269 persons was determined by Morgan table according to whole population (900 persons). In order to gather data the questionnaire by Zhao was used. Findings showed that common vision, factors shared vision with the mean difference 4/82, reciprocity with the mean difference 4/04 and confidence in sharing with the mean difference 3/34, have the most effects and can be used as basis of knowledge sharing development strategies. Social affiliation with an average-0/42 has negative effect to knowledge sharing. Given the positive impact of a shared vision, mutual interaction and confidence in the desire to share knowledge, it is possible by creating specialized scientific social networks to allow the presence of researchers of the same field and with the same realms.

Abstract: 

Today, the issue of knowledge acquisition and sharing it in the work field, especially in knowledge-based organizations has become more important. A library is a knowledge-oriented organization and the librarians are knowledge workers in the library. So, how to encourage librarians to share their knowledge and self-learning is very important. On the one hand, surveys show that designing work has enormous impact on the organization environment and on the other hand on sharing of knowledge among employees. This study aimed to analyze multilevel impact of job characteristics on knowledge sharing with the mediating role of organizational identification. The current survey is an applied study from the perspective of its objectives and from the viewpoint of data collection can be considered as a descriptive-survey study. Statistical population of the research is all of the librarians in public and academic libraries in the city of Ahwaz. Accordingly, a number of 108 librarians from 16 libraries in the city of Ahwaz were selected as a sample. The results analyzed on the individual level (librarians) showed that organizational identification has a significant and positive impact on knowledge sharing among librarians. Also motivational job characteristics have a significant and positive impact on organizational identification. The findings of multilevel model showed that the variable of group’ s level social job characteristics has moderating effect between levels in relationship between the organizational identification and knowledge sharing and the moderating role of social job characteristics in the relationship between motivational job characteristics and organizational identification was rejected.

Abstract: 

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have significant role in producing research data in different scientific fields. These data not only lead to generate fields based on research data, but also cause to produce a new paradigm or approach in research which is called Fourth Paradigm or Data Intensive Researches. These researches are based on data sharing by researchers, organizations and scientific societies. These data can be reused by other researchers. Data sharing is considered as a norm in some of scientific fields. The present article, that uses library research method, investigates the approaches, actions, policies and relevant regulations on data sharing in papers, regulations and stakeholder’ s websites in scientific and non-scientific databases. Besides national and international organizations, and scientific publishers in the world require data sharing as a condition of publications. Because of the universal agreements and accepting data sharing by many organizations and scientific fields and due to its benefits and applications, it seems that development of this issue can be an important step on science and research policy making and lead to more research impact in the country.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to determine correlation of hope theory on precision of users’ information retrieval from databases of medical science. Research method was quasi experimental, and the population consisted of 45 final year medical students at medical Universities in Tehran. The data gathering instrument was the Schneider (1991) hope questionnaire that has 12 questions. Schneider questionnaire measures two compounds of hope (agency and pathway) in 8 degrees Likert scale. Cronbach’ s alpha for two compounds of hope theory includes agency and pathway was 92% and 82%. Two pages of the retrieved results (40 records) were examined by the users in terms of relevance to their information needs. Results showed a significant correlation between the mean values of the hope of the users and the precision of the retrieved results. The users hope with the mean value of 54/11 was at the high level. There was significant relation between demographic characteristics of gender, age and employment status with hope of the users and precision of the retrieved results. Overall findings indicate that users hope, increases the precision of the retrieved results from medical databases.

Abstract: 

The present research was carried out with the aim of explicating the major writing and semantic problems of Persian language when using data environments and determining the degree of compatibility and attention to these features in Persian databases. This research is of survey analytical type being conducted through direct observation. Having reviewed the related literature, we kept a checklist of search keywords. Each of these keywords was searched in the databases under study, such as Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology, Regional Centre for Information Science and Technology, NoorMagaz, and Scientific Information Database affiliated with Jahad Daneshgahi, and the number of retrieved findings was recorded. Some of the writing and semantic features of Persian language contribute to problems associated with retrieving information from the selected databases. Some of these features include connected and disconnected forms of writing of derivative, compound, and derivative-compound words, diversity of plural forms, loanwords and their equivalents in writing as well as polysemy, homonymy, etc., in semantics. For instance, retrieving different results for various writing forms of the keywords « فناورى و فن آورى » as derivative-compound words or « پتاسیوم و پتاسیم » as various forms of recording words, or retrieving different findings for keywords « دریاى خزر، دریاى مازندران و دریاى کاسپین » as well as lack of their appropriate coverage as synonymous words and giving the user information about it in order to improve the exploration process, for it has negative effects on search and retrieval process. Findings indicated that Persian databases do not pay adequate attention to writing and semantic features of Persian language, and disregard many of its features in searching and retrieving information. In connection with the impact of these features on the interaction of users with databases, Persian-speaking users’ need for native exploration tools and databases designed in accordance with the features of their own language have become more and more urgent. The present research has examined the ability of Persian databases in covering some of the features of this language, which have a noticeable impact on the process of searching and retrieval, pinpointing the weak points and strengths of these databases. The results of the present research could be utilized to improve the performance of the above-mentioned databases.

Abstract: 

While ontology development is beneficial, it is very costly and time consuming. In order to reduce this cost as well as to increase the accuracy and quality of ontology development, researchers have proposed different methodologies. The goal of these methodologies is to present a systematic manual or semi-automated development of ontologies, while each differs and has its strengths and weaknesses. In this paper, after reviewing current methodologies, we present a new integrated collaborative methodology for ontology development, and compare it with the existing ones. This new system, called Ontirandoc, has been used in two ontology development projects and its accuracy has been evaluated.

Abstract: 

This paper is an attempt to develop a new ontology for knowledge management (KM) technologies, determining the relationships between these technologies and classification of them. The study applies NOY methodology. Proté gé software and OWL language are used for building the ontology. The presented ontology is evaluated with abbreviation and consistency criteria and knowledge retrieval of KM technologies by experts. All the main concepts in the scope of KM technologies are extracted from existing literature. There are 234 words, 49 out of them are domain concepts; 1 term is about taxonomic relation and 184 terms are instances of technologies. These terms are used to develop KM technologies’ ontology based on facilitating KM processes. This type of ontology only contains taxonomic relations, called Hyponymy Hierarchy. The presented ontology creates a common understanding in the field of KM technologies. Decision making on the choice of technology and the logic behind these decisions have not been precisely documented and widely shared. Therefore a considerable amount of knowledge is wasted. Considering the importance of sharing knowledge, this study provides the conditions that domain experts can exchange knowledge on a shared platform regardless of geographical constraints. There exists no formal ontology regarding KM technologies. In this study, we try to propose a formal KM technologies’ ontology. Uploading the presented ontology in the web environment provides a platform for knowledge sharing between experts from around the world. In addition, it helps to decide on the choice of KM technologies based on KM processes.

Abstract: 

The present study introduces a machine-based approach for word sense disambiguation (WSD). In Persian, a morphologically complex language, POS tag which lots of homographs are made, one way for doing WSD is allocating the right Part Of Speech (POS) tags to words prior to WSD. Since the frequency of noun and adjective homographs in different Persian POS tag text corpuses is high, POS tag disambiguation of such homographs seems to be necessary for WSD. This paper introduces an approach in which first POS tagging is done, then the output, which is tagged sentences, enters the next step which is POS disambiguation of Persian nouns and adjective homographs. Then the output of this step enters the final step which is applying the Lesk algorithm (a kind of unsupervised learning) for WSD. The proposed approach speeds up the WSD procedure by filtering the only relevant glosses (existing in dictionary) and increases the accuracy of the WSD procedure as well.

Abstract: 

Automatic information retrieval is based on the assumption that texts contain content or structural elements that can be used in word sense disambiguation and thereby improving the effectiveness of the results retrieved. Homographs are among the words requiring sense disambiguation. Depending on their roles and positions in texts, homograph contexts could be divided to different types, with probably different potency in determination of similarity of documents. Using a content analysis method, the present research aims to compare the powers of five kinds of contexts including text citations, references, reference titles, paper titles and texts in homograph sense disambiguation. Applying a content analysis method, the present paper concentrates on a document test collection built on English homographs by choosing a sample consisted of 3637 articles containing 19 homographs about 54 subjects published during 2000-2015. Discriminant analysis was used to determine the similarity within or differentiation between the 54 document clusters. According to the results of the discriminant analyses carried out within each of the clusters, sub-clusters of documents can be observed, though with a very little differentiation in terms of the homograph contexts. Textcitation and reference contexts are revealed to have minimum role in differentiating between the documents within the clusters. Documents containing synonymous homographs form clusters within which documents are rather similar in terms of their homograph contexts. Furthermore, homograph context types are not equ al in their power to determine similarities. Text-citation context and reference context types showed the highest degree of similarities within the clusters. These two context types, which show high similarity within clusters, can be used to improve retrieval results. It is suggested that the results of the comparison of these two contexts can be used as a tool for secondary ranking or clustering of information retrieval results. This is the first research of its kind to define different text contexts and compare them in terms of their power to determine similarity of texts containing synonymous homographs.

Abstract: 

Content is a term that has been highly regarded by researchers and practitioners of different fields to the extent that it has been referred to as the King. However, different researchers have approached the definition of content from a specific point of view so that such differences in conceptions and definitions sometimes lead to controversies. Therefore, the main question taken into consideration in this study is: What is really content? In order to answer this question, in this study after identifying the different definitions of this term in different contexts, based on comparative evaluation method, these definitions are compared. After that, based on analysis of these results, a conceptual framework called (3C) is proposed for describing the process of content creation and integrating content definitions. This framework, through a simple but efficient representation, intends to offer an operational definition of content which can be used in all fields of research and practice. According to this framework, content is a subjective creation in the mind of work creator which has different expressions and manifestations. It is transferred through appropriate conduits to the respective conduitee by being placed in containers of different kinds like product, service, or procedure. The framework indicates that the concept of content is the outcome of multiple processes malfunctioning one of which renders it meaningless. Then, in order to validate the proposed framework, it has been interpreted in five different contexts. The result of this analysis shows that the proposed framework is valid. In the end, as suggestions for the future, questions have been raised that researchers can respond to them in order to develop this framework.

Abstract: 

This article studies the impact of cloud computing and Web 2. 0 on the company’ s operating performance review. The intermediary role played by the integration of the supply chain will be analyzed. We choose a random sample of 394 companies listed in Tehran Stock Exchange during the years 2010 to 2015. Using telephone survey data were collected and the computer system was used to manage the respondents’ answers. The response rate was 19. 25 percent. In this study, factor analysis and structural equation modeling were used to test the hypotheses. The results show that cloud computing needs to support mediation supply chain integration. Web 2. 0 is a positive relationship between supply chain integration and operational performance there. Results also showed a significant positive correlation between supply chain integration and operational performance there. Trust and information sharing on supply chain integration helps to provide a better operational performance. The results show that cloud applications can cause integration better supply chain and ultimately, improve the overall operating performance.

In the world of training, online training is introduced as a modern model of training services. Cloud computing is a modern technology which is provided software, infrastructure and platform as internet. Also, online training is introduced as a modern model of training services on the web. In this research, the impact of cloud computing on e-learning on the case of Mehralborz online university has been studied. The final outcomes which are resulted from comparing two servers (Cloud configured and Traditional) in the field of response time, throughput, scalability and accessibility proved that cloud computing server is better than the Traditional web based server. So in this research, the impact of cloud computing on e-learning with quantative/ prohebationary method was recommended. Both servers with cloud computing and web based technology, with particular parameters by means of Apache benchmark service was measured. SPSS software was used to analyze data to represent the hypothesis testing. The final consequence which was resulted from comparing two servers throughout three different tests named as: evaluation of accessibility to the first page of moodle, accessibility to the login file system and accessibility to the academic file, by means of four parameters such as: response time, throughput, scalability and accessibility, showed that cloud computing server is better than the web based server.

Abstract: 

This study aimed to identify and analyze the structure of “ Knowledge and Information Science (KIS)” scientific articles using coword analysis in the “ Web of Science (WoS)” database. Methodology of this study was content analysis of articles. By co-word analysis of the articles, subjects and concepts of KIS were identified, using Between-Groups Linkage algorithm in clustering techniques. The study population was selected using the census sampling of 16475 journals’ articles in WoS database (2009-2013). Also, statistical analysis regression correlation was used. RaverPremap software, SPSS, and Excel were also used. Findings showed that the words “ information” , “ web” , “ research” , “ citation analysis” , “ knowledge” , “ library” , “ journals” , and “ technology” have high impact in studies. Analysis of clusters showed that articles words are divided into 13 clusters. The main subjects of clusters include “ teaching and learning of KIS; information literacy” , “ knowledge & information organization” , “ Web resources and social networks” , “ professional ethics in information science” , “ informatics, communication and health information services” , “ information management; information systems; knowledge management and innovation” , “ indicators of informetrics and scintometrics” . Analyzing clusters’ concepts indicated emerging some other fields of science studies in KIS as a phenomenon. Given the diversity and increases of scientific capital of other disciplines in KIS scientific outputs, interdisciplinarity of KIS knowledge was increased as well. Awareness of the interdisciplinary relation of KIS with other fields enabled experts to strengthen the cooperation with their researchers.

Abstract: 

This research tries to study the effect of information limitation on the users’ tendency toward using Internet information amongst adolescents and youth in Tehran. After reviewing research theoretical and practical literature, using internet has been defined as using it for gathering information for task and professional purposes like scientific use and news reading. Theoretical explanation of the information limitation effect on users’ tendency has been possible based on sociological and communication theories. In relationship between two mentioned variables, two moderator variables – social and economical status and use experience-has been studied. The research method is survey and research data has been gathered using questionnaire. Our population is 15 to 29 years old adolescents and youth in Tehran. Assessing data gathered from 384 respondents show that adolescents and youth have average tendency toward information using. Hypothesis testing shows that information limitation has a negatively significant correlation with users’ attitude. Based on the research, users’ experience and social and economical status don’ t have a significant correlation with the information limitation effect on the users’ tendency.

Abstract: 

The aim of this study is to investigate the status of Shahid Chamran University’ s management knowledge repository as part of the university’ s repository of organizational knowledge, identify problems and provide solutions to improve the system it is. As a practical research, the study followed the survey method which was administered as a case study. To collect data about the views of experts and faculty members of Shahid Chamran University interviews and questionnaires were used. All relevant experts were interviewed and a questionnaire was distributed among sample society selected by stratified-random sampling method Findings showed that faculty members have more or less positive attitude towards the existing system and the assignment of their works in it and the existence of such a system is useful. Despite the problems, almost all members use the system but, we must bear in mind that as user acquaintance with system grows, their partnership will increase. So, the need to inform the public about the system and holding periodic and regular quality workshops is felt. Attention to system problems and solutions provided by users will improve the status and help its promotion and advancement of research knowledge repository of research knowledge repository of university. By further improving this system we can hope an important part of the infrastructure necessary for the implementation of knowledge management at the Shahid Chamran University is provided.

Abstract: 

Information systems are growing rapidly. Academic libraries should have the ability to respond quickly to new audience requirements. Academic libraries, as the centers responsible for providing information services to a wide range of individuals need to be in line with existing innovations in the field of information. The purpose of this study was to provide a service-oriented architecture model in the university libraries of Mazandaran province. Data analysis method in this research, theoretical coding was derived from the grounded theory method. The statistical population of the study consisted of university librarians of Mazandaran province, which was selected through a targeted sampling method. 25 subjects were selected in this study. The findings of the research indicate that human factors, structural and technical factors, supervisory and managerial factors, and organizational strategies as factors affecting service oriented architecture in the university libraries of Mazandaran province were identified. Also, the results showed that in a grounded pattern of the use of information technology as a causal condition through the provision of IT-based services and easy access to IT infrastructure leads to the deployment of service-oriented libraries.
