Abstract:

This study attempts to present a typology of entrepreneurial identity on the basis of a Habermasian critical approach. To this end, four dimensions of a conceptual framework for a typology of entrepreneurial identity is designated constructed on the duality of emancipatory/instrumental rationality and the duality of individualism/collectivism. Accordingly, four types of entrepreneurial identities are presented: freedom-seeker, independency-seeker, and order-seeker and self-interested. Through a critical appraisal of the role of these identity types in identification of different forms of entrepreneurship, four types of entrepreneurship are introduced in accordance with each identity type: public entrepreneurship, lifestyle entrepreneurship, bureaucratic entrepreneurship, and commercial entrepreneurship. In addition to enriching entrepreneurial identity studies through demonstrating the role of rationality and judgment towards society in the formation of different entrepreneurial identities, this study, relying on fundamental concepts of critical theory, is an inspirational step towards promoting the interdisciplinary nature of entrepreneurship theory.

Abstract:

The crisis of environment degradation is one of factors that have raised the problem of how to make development sustainable while considering limitations. Trying to solve this problem itself, however, raises another problem: out of the two fields of economics and ecology which one should determine the policy-making for sustainable development. At last, thinking about this led me to the question whether sustainability constrains development, and if yes how. The aim of the research reflected in this paper was to find the answers to these problems and questions in the course of explaining the context of their emergence. The method was to analyze, explain, and infer implications of the theories and comparing them: firstly, the concepts or criteria of sustainability in some important expert fields of knowledge were analyzed and explained so that the status of the ecological concept of sustainability in the mainstream sustainable development becomes clear; secondly, I turned to drawing the implications of important theories in ecology – climax theory, ecosystem theory, permissive ecology theory– for sustainability criterion, and comparing them; finally the recent economic theories of sustainability were analyzed and explained and their consequences for sustainability were inferred. Through all these stages I sought to answer the question whether sustainability constrains development, if yes how, and different criteria were compared in this regard. This study made it clear that (1) in the context of sustainable development, two fields of knowledge have been the most decisive fields in determining the criterion of sustainability: ecology and economics; (2) the sustainability that resulted from ecosystem theory constrains development; (3) but permissive ecology theory cannot regard nature as a norm or criterion for development; (4) permissive ecology’ s diluted concept of sustainability leaves development primarily unconstrained; (5) in sustainable development sustainability now has become mainly an economic concept; (6) while strong sustainability has considerable capacity for constraining development, weak sustainability is lacking in this regard.

Abstract:

The central issue of Ashraf in reviewing Iran's history is to explain the historical obstacles of the formation of the capitalist system of the bourgeoisie and civil society. Ashraf to Description of the above problem has used the concepts of "Asian system" and "feudal system" in Marx's thoughts, and the concepts of “ Patrimonialism” and “ the Oriental City” in the sociology of Max Weber. As he has used the native concept of the "Muluk-al-Tawaiifi” to analyze some of the characteristics of the social and political life of the nomadic societies and their effects on social and political life of Iran. Ashraf, one of the representatives of the discourse of democratic and capitalist development pattern based on the role of the middle class or bourgeoisie. Ashraf's views on the historical barriers of Iranian society development are remarkable at three levels of political, social and economic interconnectedness. The dominance of Asian systems and the patrimonial and the Muluk al-Tawaiifi in the political arena, Nomadic, rural, and urban community associations in the social arena And the unity of the methods of agricultural production and handicrafts were the factors that Ashraf has raised as historical obstacles to the realization of feudalism and the growth of "national capitalism" in Iranian history.

Abstract:

Regions have challenges with the phenomenon of injustice from many aspects, and in different areas suffer from inappropriate distribution of benefits and lack of suitable access to services. Therefore, regional development, especially in developing countries, has always faced many challenges, including inequality and spatial injustice. In order to overcome these challenges, justice-oriented approaches such as territorial justice, environmental justice, and spatial justice have been raised. Therefore, this paper intend to review the scholarly literature of spatial justice on the regional scale to clarify the theoretical ambiguity in this field. The article is based on a systematic review and content analysis strategy. Systematic review is a second-order analysis that seeks to not only synthesizes the results of prior works, but also to reflect upon the processes within those researches. Methods such as open coding were used to collect and analyze the data. As a result, by using both systematic review and content analysis, the subject matter is explicated and organized, and thus the conceptual background that characterizes the development and change of this issue are discussed. The results indicate that the spatial justice had not been well defined. Existing concepts and approaches were contradictory and underdeveloped with respect to incorporation of crucial concepts found in both justice theory and regional theory. To advance this growing field, more conceptual clarity is needed. Also in case, it has been aimed to add relevance and momentum to the literature of spatial justice at regional level by developing a foreground for the future studies.

Abstract:

This paper sets out to present a better understanding of the economic approach to the analysis of addictive behavior. Addiction, in accordance with the standard definitions, is a consumption behavior, which follows certain behavioral patterns. Based on recent neuroscience researches on addiction, there is now a wide consensus regarding how the consumption of addictive substances affects the neural mechanisms of decision-making. These findings, next to strong supports from psychological patterns of addictive behavior, have led to a better understanding of the nature of addiction. The development of this understanding to required policies in the field of addiction, meets what we expect from the economic approach to the analysis of addictive behavior. By defining welfare criteria for consumers, the application of economic theory in this analysis helps developing policies that are measurable and comparable in terms of achieving their goals. Accordingly, the behavioral economic approach to addictive behavior helps assimilating qualitative concepts and insights of relevant disciplines into a quantitative analytical framework of making decision as to addictive consumption. This is particularly important for generating a more rigorous, and at the same time comprehensive toolkit for making policies that are seeking to reduce the harms of addiction. On this basis, in this paper, we have attempted to explain why behavioral economics is an analytical framework suitable for extracting requisite policy implications in the field of addiction.

Abstract:

More than half of the world’ s population consists of youth and adolescents under25 years of age. Some 1. 2 billion of them are 15-24 years old, and predictions suggest this number will rise for the next 20 years. As a considerable part of the population in any country that can play a positive or a negative role in the development of their countries, the youth have diversified needs such as education, employment, access to healthcare and sanitation facilities, and the possibility of engaging in social and civil society activities. Calculating the youth development index in various countries is among the activities that have taken place to determine the degree of youth atmosphere development. This index was calculated for 171 countries with respect to the five key axes of education, health and well-being, employment, political participation, and citizen participation. The main hypothesis in the present research is that the youth development index and the main components of this index have positive effects on economic growth of countries. To investigate this issue, an econometric model based on the endogenous growth model is employed and the selected countries through developed, developing, and less developed countries are studied. Results indicated that, YDI plays effective and significant role in the economic growth. Also all off its main components have effective and significant roles in the economic growth of the selected countries.

Abstract:

The holy Quran as the eternal miracle of the prophet of Islam (PBUH) requires an accurate understanding, in order to receive human life approaches which are not possible except through interdisciplinary studies. On the one hand humanistic sciences such as economy have not gained full credit and success in solving recent problems and answering the set questions. Suggested conventional economy policies in reducing poverty advises the correction of social institutions and does not pay much attention to “ family” as a subject, when Islam looks at “ family” as the basis leading to society concerning its social, cultural and economic aspects and suggests clear instructions and policies. In the same way, interdisciplinary studies enable us answer these sorts of questions. The following article has analyzed the role of moderate consumption on poverty alleviation in families by looking at Islamic teachings. If family’ s economical patterns are formed based on Islamic teachings, these ideologies and beliefs of moderate consumption and poverty alleviation will be effective. Income, moderation, contentment and personal status are the required axes in drawing an Islamic life style based on justice and poverty alleviation in society. In practical approaches of this research we may point at the relevance of marriage and poverty alleviation, effect of priority in the couples’ consumption and also economical teachings of parents to their children in the formation of moderate consumption patterns in Islamic family.
