Abstract: 

Background: In the last few years several polymorphisms variants with significant association to power and sprint performance of elite athletes have been verified. Meantime, the IL-6 gene was introduced as a proper candidate to imply a person alteration into an elite athlete. Therefore, the goal of the present study is to examine the association between IL6 gene polymorphism and power sport using metaanalysis to gather further evidence compared to individual reports.Methods: Science direct, Google Scholar and Pub Med databases have been searched until March 2015.Articles were studied based on key word IL6 accompanied with polymorphism, mutation, variant and power sport were studied. Statistical software STATA was used to analyze the data.Results: Ten articles included into the final meta-analysis and Systematic review. The survey of the obtained data from the articles revealed that 292 persons were as an entire group of athletes and 559 people were as a control group. For the allele G vs. C 1.43odds ratio (95% confidence interval: 1.03 -1.99), for the allele GG vs. GC 1.74odds ratio (95% confidence interval: 1.28- 2.36), for the allele GG vs. GC+CC 1.71 odds ratio (95% confidence interval: 1.24 -2.36) and GG+GC vs. CC allele model 0.96 odds (95% confidence interval: 0.77-1.20) was revealed. The relationship between the polymorphism 1800795GG genotype and exercise can be statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion: Generally, the result of the present study indicates that the IL6-174 G/C polymorphism is associated with better performance of elite athletes in power sports. The findings suggest that the genetic profiles might influence human physical performance. Therefore, it is recommended that researcher use IL6-174G/C polymorphism as one of the selected factor for Sports talent.

Abstract: 

Background: The clustering of cardiovascular risk factors, known as the metabolic syndrome, greatly increases the risk of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease.individuals with the metabolic syndrome are also at increased risk for premature death from cardiovascular disease or all–cause mortality. Although is a particular importance, its epidemiology in Iran has not been studied systematically. Aim of this review of published data was to describe epidemiology of metabolic syndrome in Iran.Methods: We searched MEDLINE, sid, magiran, iranmedex, and irandoc databases through 2014, and examined the reference lists of pertinent articles, limited to studies in humans.Results: Total 45 studies were eligible (25 English and 20 Farsi). The findings show the high prevalence of metabolic syndrome in both sexes according to three criteria. The prevalence of metabolic syndrome was more in women than men. We found that differences in screening programs and diagnostic criteria or various ethnic groups make it difficult to compare frequencies of metabolic syndrome among various populations. Nevertheless, factors that increase risk of metabolic syndrome were age, sex, body mass index, low HDL and high triglyceride.Conclusion: High prevalence of metabolic syndrome and relevant risk factors suggest the identification of the risk factors should be attempted to prevent syndrome acquisition.

Abstract: 

Background: Several studies have evaluated the effects of coenzyme Q10 on glycemic control, but there are large discrepancies between studies.Objective: This meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials aimed to summarize the effect of Co-Q10 on diabetes’ biomarkers.Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted on studies published from 1998 until December 2015. We searched Pub med, EMBASE, Science direct, ISI web of science and Google Scholar to find relevant studies. Totally, our search resulted in 16 articles reporting the effects of Co-Q10 on fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin and HbA1c. Mean ± standard deviations (SD) were used for calculating mean differences.95% confidence interval was considered between intervention and control treatments.Results: The present meta-analysis revealed that Co-Q10 decreased fasting blood glucose (-0.20mg/dl, 95%: -0.38, -0.02). However, Co-Q10 supplementation could not effectively reduce HbA1c (0.05%; 95%: -0.22, 0.12) and fasting insulin (0.12pmol/l; 95%: -0.21, 0.44).Conclusion: Co-Q10supplementation didn’t result in reduction in HbA1c and fasting insulin.However, it had a significant lowering effect on fasting blood glucose. It should be noted that significant changes in fasting blood glucose reported in this study was due to the extended sample size and this is not clinically significant in the present study.

Abstract: 

Background: Diabetes is a chronic disease that comes into existence results in a disruption in the production and function of insulin in the body. Diabetes is a serious disease of modern societies and its on-time diagnosis have important role in the treatment of disease.So this study aimed to assess improvement diagnosis of diabetes using a combination of sugeno fuzzy inference systems and firefly algorithms.Methods: In this paper, using Sugeno fuzzy inference systems and intelligent algorithms Firefly, a new method is presented for the detection of diabetes. The proposed method enables the use of a few simple fuzzy rules to detect diabetes with good accuracy.Results: Sugeno fuzzy inference system and firefly algorithm combines efficiency was 87.24 percent.Conclusion: Experimental results show that this method deals on the data set is more accurate than the standard PID algorithm in this field.

Abstract: 

Background: Finding effective drugs have been considered for healing diabetic wounds by researchers. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects on wound healing ointment Alcoholic extract of grape seed skin is normal and diabetic rats.Methods: In this study 48 male Wistar rats into four groups (negative control, positive control, the first experimental, the second experimental) were divided. Groups tested in the injured area of 3 cm2 were created on the left spine. The wound healing was evaluated macroscopically. The results are reported as Mean ± SD. Statistical inference border (P³0.05) and (P³0.01) and (P³0.001).Results: Compared with normal wound healing in diabetic groups were later and Wound healing in experimental groups treated with Vitis Vinifera more quickly than the control group, respectively.Conclusions: In this study the skin ointment Vitis Vinifera accelerates the wound healing is normal and diabetic samples.

Abstract: 

Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a chronic liver disease is increasing in adults and children worldwide. Obesity, insulin resistance or diabetes type II, hyperlipidemia and hypertriglyceridemia plays a major role in the epidemiology of this disease. Cytokeratin 18 (CK-18) the major intermediate filament protein in the liver is a marker of increased hepatocyte apoptosis.The aim of this study was todeterminate CK-18 level as a marker of hepatocyte apoptosis and paraoxonase as a biochemical marker for lipid peroxidation.Methods: This case–control study was done on 51 subjects with confirmed NAFLD by ultrasound and 30 healthy individuals. CK-18 is proposed as a biomarker alternative cell death. The serum was used for measurement of the apoptosis-associated neo-epitope in the C-terminal domain of CK-18 by the M30-Apoptosense ELISA kit. The M30 detection antibody recognizes a neo-epitope mapped to positions 387 to 396 of CK18, so called CK18-Asp396 that is only revealed after caspase cleavage of the protein and is postulated as a selective biomarker of apoptosis. Serum PON1 activity was assayed using a synthetic substrate. Paraoxon substrate (diethyl-p nitrophenylphosphate), was deliberated using the increase of absorbance at 412 nm at 37◦C.Results: There were significant differences regarding serum cytokeratin 18 (p=0.005), paraoxonase activity (p=0.03), triglycerides (p=0.04) and low-density lipoprotein (p=0.04) between NAFLD and healthy subjects.Between CK-18 and paraoxonase with the early stages of fatty liver disease are associated.Conclusion: This study suggests that serum levels of cytokeratin 18 can be useful in predicting nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Paraoxonase activity (PON1) should be considered a biochemical marker of lipid peroxidation and the need for follow-up in patients with NAFLD.

Abstract: 

Background: Omentin-1 is known as adipokines that are secreted by visceral fat tissue. Omentin-1 levels are inversely associated with obesity. The aim of this research was investigation of the effect of Rhythmic aerobic exercise on serum concentration of Omentin-1 and same Anthropometric markers in obese women.Methods: Thirty two obese women voluntarily selected with mean age 37 ± 8 years old and body mass index of 32.34±3.54 kg/m2 and randomly were divided into two groups of experimental (n=17) and control group (n=15). Subjects in the experimental group performed the exercise training with intensity 80-70% of maximum heart rate for 45-60 minutes per session, three times a week for 10 weeks. The control group did not participate in any exercise program. Omentin-1 serum levels, weight, body mass index and waist-to-hip ratio was calculated before and after exercise. Collected data were analyzed by using of Shapiro-Wilk, Leven, dependent t test and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) with software SPSS version 21 in significant level of a<0.05 or a<0.001.Results: 8 week aerobic exercise in the experimental group was associated with a significant increase in the omentin-1 levels (P=0.0001) and significant reduction of weights and body mass index (p= 0.0001) (P<0.05). Whereas there was no significant change in WHR levels (P>0.05). Reviews for between group indicated a significant increase in the amount of omentin-1 (P=0.009) and a significant reduction in weight values (P=0.0001) and BMI (P=0.001) in the experimental group compared with the control group (P<0.01).Conclusion: It seems that rhythmic aerobic exercise is an important role in improving cardiovascular health and obesity-related disorders in obese women by increasing omentin-1 and reducing obesityrelated factors.
