Abstract: 

Path delay fault models are introduced to diagnose failures that cause sequential circuits malfunction and violate timing specifications. For delay faults tests, a pair of test vectors is used for each path to be tested. Diagnosis of failure in asynchronous circuits is more important since the delay faults can change the function of the circuit. .However, asynchronous circuits and their faults are yet to be understood. The purpose of this study is to first identify whether the existing paths will accurately measure delays. Furthermore, a new definition for paths is introduced, which leads to a new category of path delay faults. This new category is different from previously proposed categories by suggesting simultaneous evaluation of pair vectors. Finally, the experimental results for SIS benchmark circuits are shown and the fault coverage is calculated for each circuit.

Abstract: 

In this paper, a 2-D analytical electromagnetic method and a 2-D finite element method along with experimental results for performance analysis of a disk induction motor are presented. The torque-speed curve that has been obtained from the proposed theoretical studies is compared with the experimental one. It is observed that the theoretical results in comparison with the practical: ones have sufficient accuracy and they can be used in a first step design for disk induction motors.

Abstract: 

Stress is known to be an important issue among the prosdic features of speech. The recognition of stressed speech has always been an important issue for speech researchers. Meanwhile, providing a large corpus, to be used in speech recognition and with the coverage of all different stressed conditions in a certain language, is a difficult task. Farsi (Persian) has been no exception to this. In this research, our aim has been to evaluate the effect of stress on prosodic features of Farsi language, such as phoneme duration, energy, pitch frequency and the pitch contour slope. These might be valuable in further research in speech recognition. As the main influence of stress is on vowels, the effects of stress on such parameters as duration, energy, pitch frequency and its slope for the vowels have been evaluated.

Abstract: 

The amount of accessible information on Internet is increasing, rapidly, such that general- purpose search engines are unable to cover and index half of this information. A small fraction of this information represents a topic or domain. Domain specific search engines are suitable approach to reach a high precision and recalL However, these approaches suffer from querying mechanism. In this paper, the current problems of search engines in querying mechanism is surveyed and an integrated architecture for domain specific search engines, called AK Usearch Engine, has been introduced, which its goal is to improve querying mechanism of users through automatic expanding of users' queries and learning from past searches using Case Based Reasoning (CBR). To expand the users' query automatically and with related information, a new concept called "domain specific concept hierarchy" is introduced and an algorithm for learning this hierarchy from specific domains is designed, implemented and evaluated. The result of using this concept hierarchy in the proposed architecture shows a significant improvement in comparison to the original architecture. The implementation results show that this architecture is effective in preventing from repetitive searches and presenting results with better quality to the user.

Abstract: 

Back propagation algorithm performs gradient descent only in the weight space of a network with fixed topology. The Number of layers, Neurons and network weights have important influence on network performance. So algorithms that can find appropriate network architecture automatically are thus highly desirable. Researchers have proposed different algorithms for determining optimum size of neural networks. Meybod and Beigy introduced the first learning automata based algorithms, called WSA algorithm. This algorithm by turning off the unimportant weights, not only reduces network complexity but also increases network generalization ability, at the beginning, all weights of the network are on and contribute to learning. The on weights, whose absolute values are less than a threshold value, are penalized and those whose absolute value is larger than another threshold value, are rewarded. The on weights, whose absolute values lie between these two threshold values, neither rewarded, nor penalized. By choosing optimum values for these values we can obtain, networks with minimum number of weights which can learn training patterns with acceptable error and generalization ability. In this paper we introduce a new learning automata based algorithm, called A WSA for adaptation of parameters of WSA algorithm. Also, a new algorithm called MWSA is introduced to determine important weights in the multi layer neural networks. These algorithms are applied to number of problems such as recognition of English number. Persian printed numbers recognition, second order discrete time nonlinear function approximation and Persian phoneme recognition. The results obtained show that the proposed algorithms have better performance than, other existing algorithms.

Abstract: 

Many speech detection methods have been proposed for the use in speech recognition systems. These methods can be broadly classified into three approaches according to their interaction with the pattern matching paradigm: (1) the explicit approach (2) the implicit approach (3) the hybrid approach. In this research we implement a new explicit method, which is reliable and very prease for real time applications. This new speech detection method (with name of maximum information point MIP) has been proposed and evaluated on a 1500 words discrete utterance speech command system. MIP method use of all low and high level information of speech signal and background noises. The evolution results at (5 to 30 dB S/N ratio), and all variant of noise (white, color, periodic, stationary, non stationary, variable power level, ...), shows that the MIP method performance is better than the other classical methods.

Abstract: 

Electric distribution systems are wide separate parts of power systems. These networks are interface between load and transmission, generation systems with respect to radial configuration of distribution feeders. The main methods for improvement in reliability of distribution systems are installation of switching devices such as sectionalize rand tie point. In this paper, an attempt has been made to develop a new and efficient algorithm for sectionalizer and tie point allocation simultaneously. A genetic algorithm based approach for determining optimal location and number of sectionalizers and tie points in distribution networks is presented. Costs of switches, lines and outage cost are considered in cost function. Test results verify the feasibility of applying the proposed method to manipulate the combinatorial switching device allocation in distribution networks.

Abstract: 

Differential cryptanalysis is a common method which can be applied for the evaluation of bolck ciphers security. In this paper, we introduce a model for representing a SP-Structure block cipher's mapping differential characteristics. This model represents the differential operation of the cipher algorithm through a weighted directed graph, while finding the best differential characteristics of the cipher will be equivalent to finding the shortest path between the source and destination nodes of that graph. We then employ ant colony technique to find the shortest path of the graph.Through applying this method, we managed to find some differential characteristics of 4.round, 5-round and 6-round Serpent block cipher. These characteristics are compared with other published characteristics. We show that our characteristics give a better probability than those published in six cases, and have the same probability in two other cases. This comparison explains the efficacy of our method to finding differential characteristics with high probability.
