Abstract

Advances in INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (lCT) provide a good situation for spreading VIRTUAL ORGANIZATIONs. The existing virtual environment has forced managers to change the form of manufacturing from traditional to virtual. From one point of view, manufacturing in VIRTUAL ORGANIZATIONs has caused a reduction in investment costs and the time for producing new products. From another point of view, it has created new core competencies for organizations in a global competitive environment. How will the formation of strategy in new virtual space be? Will existing STRATEGY SCHOOLS be qualified for the new space? This paper aims to describe a survey on new organizational development under the title of "virtual organizations" and their characteristics, as well as STRATEGY SCHOOLS and, then, proposes a new school of STRATEGY FORMATION under the title of "verticalness school".
