Abstract

This paper presents a novel Sepic based high step-up DC-DC converter. The proposed converter consists of a Coupled inductor, a power switch, three diodes and three capacitors. A passive voltage clamp is used to recycle the energy stored in the leakage inductor of the Coupled inductor. This causes the voltage across the power switch to be clamped by the passive voltage clamp. Therefore, because of low voltage stress, a low on-resistance (RDS-on) switch can be used which reduces conduction loss and increases the efficiency. The steady state analysis of the proposed converter is discussed. Finally, the simulation results are prepared to justify the validity of the analysis.
