Abstract

 Contrary to previous common theories, which supposed that Aluminum combustion occurred frequently in the vapor phase, recent research indicates, in some conditions, combustion reactions have an effective role in the development of the combustion process.There are different methods to determine the role of the combustion of solids and gas in metal particle combustion. One of them is analyzing the time of combustion and its changes with particle diameter and its sensitivity towards the amount of oxygen. Experiments indicated that the role of solid - gas reaction at a size below 50 microns is stronger than the gas - gas phase reaction.
