ANALYSIS AND ASSESSMENT OF EFFECTIVE FACTORS ON BIBI HAKIMEH SUBSURFACE ANTICLINE LONGITUDINAL CURVATURE (DEZFUL EMBAYMENT, SW IRAN)

Abstract

 Most of Iranian hydrocarbon reservoir quantities are located in the Zagros anticline oil traps, particularly in the DEZFUL EMBAYMENT area. Although general trend of these structures are NW-SE parallel to the main Zagros thrust, but in some cases, the trend of many of these structures have been changed and consequently the folds have been shaped as open sigmoidal. This axis curvature is more common in the longer anticlines. As the size of anticline LONGITUDINAL CURVATURE increases, the density of tensional open fractures will increase too. These fractures have an important role in boosting of hydrocarbon reservoirs productivity. Therefore, this research focused on the effective factors on BIBI HAKIMEH SUBSURFACE ANTICLINE LONGITUDINAL CURVATURE, which is located in the DEZFUL EMBAYMENT area. Based on these results, amplification and coalescence of the isolated anticlines have primary and main effect in formation of Bibi Hakimeh anticline LONGITUDINAL CURVATURE. Simultaneously or after this process, shear zone is resulted from basement fault activation, activations of supplement and controlling factors of curvature arisen from this faults activation. In which it has contributed in the formation of Bibi Hakimeh anticline LONGITUDINAL CURVATURE. Trend and slip rate variation in Bibi Hakimeh thrust and effects of adjacent anticlines, are some of the other effective factors in the formation of this phenomena. Moreover, in this research with the special approach to existing basement fault activations in Bibi Hakimeh oilfield, a three dimensional model of the DEZFUL EMBAYMENT, has been provided.
