Title

ROCK PHYSICS MODELING IN SANDSTONE MEMBER OF THE ASMARI RESERVOIR (A CASE STUDY FROM MASURI OIL FIELD)

Abstract

 Geophysical methods, especially methods of determining elastic behavior of rocks, have improved considerably in recent years and are also important for oil companies to decrease drilling risk. Rock Physics functions can help us to predict these behaviors. The first step in this process is to develop a suitable rock physics model. The aim of this paper is to apply well logs and rock physics studies in order to establish models relating ELASTIC PARAMETERS and reservoir properties in sandstone member of ASMARI RESERVOIR. The results show that KRIEF MODEL and NUR-DVORKIN MODEL are appropriate for predicting S-wave velocity and porosity respectively. Also POISSON IMPEDANCE is a suitable elastic parameter for determining lithology and pore fluid distribution. llies (including Rhyniopsida, Lycophyta, and Equisetopsida) and archaeopterid progymnosperms.
