Abstract

Target: The present study was the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy on suicidal ideation and psychological well-being in adolescents with drug abuse referring to addiction treatment clinics in Bandar Imam Khomeini (RA). Method: The research design was semi-experimental with pre-test and post-test with two experimental and control groups that were selected purposefully, And since the statistical population included teenagers with drug abuse referring to drug addiction clinics in Bandar Imam Khomeini (RA), 20 of them were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups (10 in the experimental group and 10 in the control group). control) were assigned and the subjects of the experimental group were trained in the cognitive behavioral therapy method of Leahy (2017 Beck (1996) and Riff (1989) psychological well-being measurement tools were used. To analyze the data, the statistical method of covariance analysis and 26spss software were used. Findings: A significant difference was observed between the post-test averages of suicidal ideation and psychological well-being of the experimental and control groups (p<0. 005). Conclusion: The results showed that cognitive behavioral therapy training is effective on suicidal ideation and psychological well-being in adolescents with drug abuse referring to addiction treatment clinics in Bandar Imam Khomeini (RA).
