Abstract

 The SEFID ROUD DAM is located in the South of Manjil on approx.200 km north west of Tehran and 100 km South of Caspian Sea in the contact Point of Ghezel Ozan and Shahroud rivers. The Studied area is Situa ted in the Shahroud branch and in Manjil regian.The main Soientific aims Of this study area: Surveery of Mineralogy, chemical preparation and physic mechanical properties of clay deposits bhind of the SEFID ROUD DAM in Shahroud branch. Applied aims of this study are: The industrial Utilizations of the mentioned clay deposit, also kind and using method of them which have been compared with the STANDARDs for producing the bricks. Then for realization of these aims, after Preliminary studies and reconnaissance of 9 different sites, sampling by digging small shafts with 60–80 cm depth without pollutant in the Shahroud branch and from the locations with more deposits has been done and also the STANDARD distance between sampling locations observed. Thenceforth, clay particles of samples separated and sent for analyzing. Also, the chemical analysis o samples by wet chemistry methods have been done in the Geological Survey of Iran. Afterwards, for Surveying the mineralogical, XRD test has been done on two series of samples contain of bulk samples and clay particle compositions separated samples. For determining of phy sicomchanical proper ties such as Grain size green and dry strength, firing color, shrinkage, absorption and etc. between 3 samples from, samples (z2, z8, and one mixture of all of the samples) have been. These 3 samples have been selected for physico mechaincal tests selected after determining the firing color. and notice that thay had the monotonous chyemical admix ture in Taba restan Tile factorys Laboratoy. Finanly in mentioned to the results of all tests and comparing uith national STANDARD No.1162 from Institute of STANDARD and industrial research of Iran, we understood that the clay deposits from the selected site can be used for producing the bricks which are one of the most important needs of Gilan province.
