Abstract

 This study investigated the effects of salinity changes on some of GROWTH and survival indexes of (Tetraodon biocellatus). It was done with a complete randomized including 36 puffer fish fry (2 gr weight and 2.5 cm length) which provided from brood stock, and by using four concentrations (0.5, 10, 15 mg/lit) of sea salt in water. The length, weight, GROWTH and survival indexes were measured. Moreover the salinity affects on branchia CHLORIDE CELLS and reins MALPIGY STUFFS were investigated. At last results showed that numbers the salinity increase causes increase of branchia CHLORIDE CELLS numbers and decrease of reins MALPIGY STUFFS numbers. The maximum GROWTH of length and maximum survival rate were seen in 5ppt and 10ppt salinities respectively. The differences seen in length of different treatments was not significant) p>0.05), but regarding the weight, significant differences were identified after four week in treatments (p<0.01) and of course Even in fifth and sixth weeks, it reached to its highest point. In addition, the results showed that puffer fish wouldn't have remarkable mortality at salinity changes of 0-15, namely. The fish species is adaptable to salinity changes. So it seems there is the possibility of keeping fish in fresh water aquarium.
