Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the composition of fish population in HOVIZEH MARSHLAND during the July 2008 to may 2009. Totally 2296 fish were captured from three following stations Boustan, Rafih and Shatali by gillnet with mesh size of 30 and 60 mm. According to results, 19 species from 11 genus and 5 family were identified. The largest number of species were recorded in April (18) from Rafih station and the lowest number were recorded in August (9) from Shatali station. The largest number of capture was recorded in August (366) and the lowest was recorded in January (230). According to the result following 5 species were recorded: Liza abu (23.95%), Aspius vorax (15.03%), Barbus lutes (10.41%), Carassius auratus(8.14%) and Silurus triostegus (6.4%). The average of water temperature, salinity and ph were recorded as following 21.1 (c0), 1.79 ppt and 7.5 respectively. The annual values for RICHNESS (d), diversity (H), EVENNESS (J) and dominance (D) were determined 2.21, 0.99, 0.88 and 0.18 respectively.
