Abstract

Cryptosporidosis is one of the common diseases among human and other animals. The causative agent is protozoa from cryptosporidium Spp. From general public and veterenary field view point, this protozoa has great importance due to it is resistence against enviromental and physicochemical condition. Different species of this parasite cause disease in human and animals. Cryptosporidium parvum, as one of cryptosporidium Spp, results gastroentritis as well as diarrhoea meanwhile, CRYPTOSPORIDIUM ANDERSONI is located in abomasal mucosal layer then weith loss, down production of milk occurs. On the other hand it causes chronic emaciation which is important from economical point. There is no effective therapy in animal or human. So the best way is prevention and limiting the transmission. In our study for detecting contaminated CATTLE and BUFFALO, we selected 300 CATTLEs and 300 BUFFALOes of TABRIZ slaughterhouse, throughout nine-months. We prepare smears from abomasal mucosal layer then stained with modified Zhile-Nelson. To differentiate two Spp as aforementioned, we used and focused on diameter size of Cryptosporidium. Finelly, 16 out of 300 and 10 out of 300 CATTLE and BUFFALO were positive, respectively. So, in this study we found that the contamination rate can exceed to 5.3% and 3.6% in CATTLE and BUFFALO, respectively. This shows that occurrence of crptosporodiosis is noticeable.
