Title

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF TIO2 NANO-CRYSTALS PREPARED BY GELATION METHOD

Abstract

 The aim of this paper is synthesis of TiO2 nanostructures by GELATION METHOD. The results showed that different conditions of gel preparation such as concentration of primary materials, accelerator content, pH value, calcination time and temperature affect on the properties of TiO2nanopowders. The calcination time and temperature can improve the crystallization of TiO2powders and accelerate the phase transformation of amorphous phase to anatase or RUTILE. The crystalline structures and morphologies of TiO2powders have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. The results showed that the phase transformation of anatase to RUTILE completely occurred at about 900 °C and the grain size of the powders were in ranging from 35 ± 10 nm.
