Abstract

A descriptive survey research was undertaken to study the perceptions of AGRICULTURAL SPECIALISTS regarding the basis of FEASIBILITY of applying ORGANIC FARMING in KERMANSHAH Province of Iran. The specific objectives were to determine: 1) the educational, economic, technical, managerial, social and policy implications of applying ORGANIC FARMING, 2) areas of using ORGANIC FARMING in Iranian context. A proportional stratified sample of 175 AGRICULTURAL SPECIALISTS were selected out of a total population of 320 persons. Data were collected using a questionnaire which was validated by a panel of experts and the reliability index was established by a Cronbach's coefficient (0.83). The results indicated that there was a statistically significant relationship between educational, economic and FEASIBILITY of applying ORGANIC FARMING and there wasn’t any relationship between technical, managerial, policy and social and FEASIBILITY of applying ORGANIC FARMING.Multiple regression indicated that 31% (R2=0.32) of the variance in the FEASIBILITY of applying ORGANIC FARMING could be explained by educational and economic levels.
