Title

IMPROVED METHOD OF ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURAL MEMBERS

Pages

  33-43

Abstract

Accurate analysis of SHEAR walls and cores of tall building structure needs consideration of ARTIFICIAL FLEXURE and PARASITIC SHEAR in modeling. In this paper, new non-linear, strain based FINITE ELEMENTS are proposed to overcome some of the difficulties occurring due to above mentioned parameters. Numerical comparisons are also made to show that increasing or decreasing the power of the strain functions is a key to improve the behavior of the structural modeling.
