Abstract

Fish are more important for man kinds as a source of proteins and different vitamins. Some trace elements are necessary for metabolite of human body. If concentration of these traces elements were reached high being toxic for human tissue. Cyprinus Carpio is a commercial FISH (third level of FISH catch) in the southern of CASPIAN SEA; therefore, this study was conducted to determine six heavy metals (Fe, Zn, Cu, Ni, Co and Mn) concentrations in edible FISH tissue of Cyprinus Carpioin 2012-2013. Forty five samples of FISH (Cyprinus Carpio) were collected during winter and spring. All samples were prepared by digesting and extracting processes and then determined using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) instrument. Results of current study showed that mean contents and standard error (±SE) of essential (Fe, Zn, Cu) and semiessential (Ni, Co, Mn) trace element were registered 77.91 (±11), 63.45 (±14.00), 12.11 (±2.00) and 121 (±14), 323 (±28), 3.29 (±0.54) mg/g.dw, respectively. Metals concentrations in edible FISH tissue were found in the following order: Fe>Zn>Cu>Mn>Co>Ni. In conclusion, the results revealed that a comparison with tissue quality guideline quotient (WHO) indicated that essential and semi-essential trace elements were not ecotoxicological threats.
