Abstract

In this research influence of some environmental factors on seed germination and seedling emergence of SALVIA HYPOLEUCA were studied. Five factorial experiments with four replications was conducted in Department of Medicinal Plants Research Center in Karaj. LIGHT experiment included three levels of LIGHT, darkness and LIGHT-darkness. PLANTING DEPTH (0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 cm), flooding stress (0, 1, 3, 6 and 10 days), OSMOTIC POTENTIAL (0, -2, -4, -6 and -8 Bar ) and SALINITY STRESS were in five levels ( 0, 100, 150, 200 and 250 mM), respectively. Results showed that optimum germination and emergence occurred in LIGHT stimulating treatment and PLANTING DEPTH of 1 cm and germination percentage was decreased as the NaCl concentration (250 mM). Information gained from this study, improve our understanding of different germination behaviors of SALVIA HYPOLEUCA under different environmental conditions.
