Abstract

Imam Khomeini (BIK) port is more than 70 years old, it has 37 jetties in special Economic zone (SES) of BIK. About 32 percent of foreign trade exchange of Iran is passing through this port. The BIK port has access to 70 percent of crowded and industrial centers, so it is the 2nd biggest trade port of Iran and one of the most important logistic centers of the country. This port also was selected a grain hub of the country. Regarding the importance of creating enough storing spaces for reserving the corps (grain) for 20 coming years, it is needed to consider the current available WAREHOUSEs and predict enough WAREHOUSE spaces for transiting these kinds of goods. This investigation and data collecting was carried out via SWOT techniques, preparing questionnaire and finally analyzing the collected data by using AHP hierarchal model. According to the obtained findings of internal and external matrix and formation of quantitative strategic planning matrix, it was determined that the organization is in an aggressive status and this is because of the fact that internal strengths overcome internal weaknesses and environmental opportunities overcome the threats. The research is consisted of three scenarios which are as follows: a scenario with particular focus on the next twenty-year outlook, then the scenarios of absorption of the markets of south-north corridor, and finally a scenario of building factories that employ grain raw materials, Regarding the traffic load of goods in next twenty-years in BIK, which was estimated about 10 million tons for this period. We think if the under construction WAREHOUSEs in BIK complete, there will be no need to negotiate to build new WAREHOUSE buildings. So the completed buildings which are being made in BIK at the moment are sufficient to afford the traffic load of goods in future outlook of coming twenty years.
