Title

INVESTIGATION OF THICKNESS EFFECT OF FILMS ON PERFORMANCE OF DYE SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL BASED ON ZNO AND SNO2 NANOPARTICLES

Abstract

 In this study, the photo-anodes of DYE sensitized SOLAR CELLs were fabricated based on ZINC OXIDE (ZnO) and TIN DIOXIDE (SnO2) NANOPARTICLES separately. The layers with thicknesses of 7, 13, 15 and 16.5 μm were prepared using doctor blade method for both semiconductor and were sensitized with N719 DYE. The structure and morphology of NANOPARTICLES obtained using X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy. Efficiency parameter, short circuit current density, open circuit voltage and fill factor of the current voltage curve of cells were obtained. According to characterization of the current – voltage curve, it was shown that the of photo-anode with thickness of 15 mm for both metal oxide, have the highest efficiency of about 3.83% and 2.24%, for ZnO and SnO2, respectively.
