Abstract

 Mining and minerals industries are closely related and linked to their immediate environment. The environmental impacts of this industry should be managed in a way to have a minimum negative effects (risks) on the environment. ENVIRONMENTAL RISK ASSESSMENT is done to identify, analyze and rank the risk factors and reduce the likelihood of their occurrence and control potential risks in order to preserve the environment. The purpose of this study was to identify environmental risks imposed by COAL WASHING PLANT of eastern Alborz (17 risk factors) and assess their impact on the 12 ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS (such as agriculture, ecology, etc.). Therefore, a set of risk assessment criteria are considered using taxonomy analysis that is one of the most important MADM methods. For example, the components of the "user area", "social issues", "surface water" and "groundwater" in the visible range, the risk of industrial, waste disposal methods, types of geological formations in the area are ranked and assigned as the most critical components of these risks. Therefore, based on the ratings obtained for the risks in each component the necessary arrangements could be made to reduce the harm caused by them.
