Abstract

 On behalf of the board of Iranian Operations Research Society, I am honored to present the first issue of Iranian Journal of Operations Research. Operations research has been taught in Iranian universities for more than four decades and in a variety of disciplines such as industrial engineering, mathematics, computer science, management science, transportation engineering, water resource engineering and electrical engineering. The extensive application of operations research made it so popular that thousands of articles were published in many international and domestic scientific journals and conferences. However, it has been only two years that Iranian Operations Research Society was established to make a forum for researchers, scholars and students in order to share their ideas and experiences. This journal is published to help achieving this goal.
