Wave and current data analysis on the coast of Bandar Anzali

Abstract

 One way of obtain for marine data is direct measurements or ongoing case. Generally data processing is to convert the data into information so that management and applied marine sciences purely on the basis of information occurs. Therefore, any scientific study is necessary to turn data into information. Marine data as basic information for the design of marine structures and coastal and Fisheries and Aquaculture are of vital importance. Optimal design of structures such as breakwaters, docks, oil rigs, pipelines deployed on the seabed, coastal protection systems and naval shore facilities directly depends on the accuracy of the information used. In this study, the analysis of field data and the current wave profile in Bandar Anzali, in June 2003, has been paid. According to this measure the maximum significant wave height of 3. 26 meters and out of the port of Anzali to the prevailing north-east of the waves and the period of 10 seconds. The magnitude of speed dominant current outside of Bandar Anzali 0. 38 m/s and direction is the eastern. For station in mouth of Bandar Anzali significant wave height Time Series with time-series variation of the current speed is consistent. So currents in this area is mainly due to the wave breaking.
