Abstract

Inroduction & Objective: Parkinson's disease is one of the neurodegenerative diseases associated with learning and Memory impairment. Pain is one of the symptoms of Parkinson's disease and its mechanism is unknown. Due to the antioxidant properties of Oleuropein, this study was performed to investigate the effect of active ingredient and swimming training on Memory impairment and Pain in animal models of Parkinson's disease. Material and Method: In this experimental study, 40 rats were divided into control, Parkinson's, Swimming Practice (five sessions per week and 30 minutes in each session), Oleuropein receiver for 4 weeks (20 mg per day for Kg body weight), combined Swimming Practice and Oleuropein. After the end of the prescription length, the Pain threshold was evaluated using the tail-flick test and the shuttle box test was used to check the passive avoidance Memory. One-way ANOVA and Tukey's post hoc tests were used to determine differences between groups. Results: The results showed that avoidance Memory was significantly higher in Oleuropin receiving group, Swimming Practice and combined Swimming Practice and Oleuropein than Parkinson's group. (p<0. 001). Pain threshold was significantly increased in groups of Oleuropein (p <0. 01), Swimming Practice (P <0. 01) and combined Swimming Practice and Oleuropein (P <0. 001) compared with Parkinson's group. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, Oleuropein and Swimming Practice improves Pain and Memory disorders caused by Parkinson's model.
