Providing a framework for establishing and developing a continuous financial literacy system by measuring financial literacy in Tehran high schools

Abstract

 Financial literacy and understanding its concepts are of particular importance to students because the financial decisions they make during their student years have a significant impact on their financial situation after graduating from school and university. The aim of the present study was to provide a framework for the establishment and development of a continuous financial literacy system by measuring financial literacy in Tehran secondary schools. The study method in this research was survey-descriptive method. After extracting and approving the appropriate questionnaire, the questionnaire was distributed among students. The statistical population consisted of third year high school students Tehran. The findings indicate that the three dimensions of student 'financial literacy’ (financial knowledge, financial behavior, and financial attitude) affect their field of study (0. 236) and their parents' job (0. 205). The results show that with the three dimensions of students' financial literacy, their level of education will be relatively strong, and with high financial literacy, their parents' employment rate will be relatively low.
