Abstract

One of the factors that affects the flexibility of floor slabs, is the ratio of floor mass to the SHEAR WALL mass in SHEAR WALLed buildings. This ratio may sometimes be one of the most important parameters in floor behavior. To evaluate the importance of this ratio, several structures with different MASS RATIOs have been analyzed in this paper. The results of these analyses have shown that the floor behavior may be quite different if the MASS RATIO not to be considered, which is the most common rule of ordinary analysis.
