Abstract

PHOTOGRAPHY and its various forms emerged in IRAN three years after its emergence in Europe. (l.e. from 1839 in France) after the first difficult process of PHOTOGRAPHY, in the form of daguerreotypes, PHOTOGRAPHY extended in IRAN as well as realizing its useful and functional applications were mostly due to interest, attention, and support Naser-od-din Shah QAJAR paid to this newly developed art and technique. In additional there was some photographer pioneers from the Russia, France, Austria and specially Italy. Some of them where as officers or teachers in Dar-al- fonoun. (The technical high school In Tehran). The historical comparison of the growing and developing trends of PHOTOGRAPHY in the 19th century proves that the pioneers of this technique and art in IRAN made wonderful efforts. They had a key role in history of PHOTOGRAPHY in IRAN. Because some aspects of their activities known as a first photographic activities in the history of PHOTOGRAPHY in IRAN. The study of these photographs enables us to follow the origin of the first Photographic activities in IRAN as well as to follow the path of the photographers who took the early pictures in IRAN during the early and middle years of Naser-od-din Shah's reign.In this article the author introduces various aspects of the life and works of four Italian pioneers of PHOTOGRAPHY in IRAN between (1853-1862).
