Abstract

The Concentration of Surfactant and organic co - solvent in the micellar mobile phase have significant effects on retention and selectivity in MICELLAR LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY (MLC). As a result the effects of concentration of SODIUM DODECYL SULFATE (SDS) and isopropanol on retention and selectivity were evaluated simultaneously. The tridimensional curve of variation of selectivity with the concentrations of isopropanol and SDS for separation of PHENYLTHIOHYDANTION AMINO ACIDs indicate that optimum concentration of isopropanol and SDS are 3% (V/V) and 0.015 M respectively. The effect of pH in mobile phase at the range of 3.14 - 6.26 showed an increase in selectivity at higher pH for separation of PTH - amino acids.
