Abstract

The MIE THEORY for the light scattering from spherical particles is re-studied. Because of the importance of this theory for practical reasons (e. g., in calibrating instruments used in PARTICLE SIZING), investigations are carried out, and the origin of OSCILLATIONs in the scattered intensity curve as a function of particle size, as well as damping down effect of the imaginary part of the refractive index are pointed out.
