Abstract

A study on population of yellow fin tuna in eastern waters of HORMUZGAN province indicated LENGTH-WEIGHT RELATIONSHIP as W=0.000034L 2.84. T-test showed that b value (2.84) was significantly different from 3 (p<0.01). GROWTH PARAMETERS of yellow fin tuna based on length frequency analysis were: K= 0.52 (/year), L∞=167cm and to=-0.195.Total mortality calculated using Catch-Curve method was 2.38 (/year). Natural and fishing mortality were estimated 0.56 and 1.82, respectively. Exploitation rate of yellow fin tuna was 0.76.
