Abstract

 People learn in different ways, which indicates they pursue various learning styles. According to the latest experiences of scientists in the field of AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION and education, a PLURALISTIC APPROACH to TEACHING METHODS is required, as the learners do not all learn in the same manners. To address the driving demand for applying a PLURALISTIC APPROACH to teach farmers, this study was conducted in the country's three provinces of Boushehr, Gilan and Markazi (as the area of field study) with a farmers' population of  about 1,136,910. Out of this, 715 farmers were selected as a sample, using Krejcie and. Morgan (1970) criteria. Multi-stage random sampling technique was employed, while a I questionnaire being developed as the tool of measurement. Cronbach a Coefficient proved high reliability of the scales of the questionnaire (0.87-0.89). Face and content validities were assessed through judgment made by some teachers as well as by experts working in the field of AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION. Out of different learning style scales, VARK methodology was employed in the study. The results reveal that a majority of the farmers follow multiple leaning styles (43.17 %). A few of the respondents (14.7 %) pursued a strong single learning style. The study also indicated significant relationships between personal and educational characteristics of farmers and their scores in VARK LEARNING STYLE.
