Abstract

IN THIS ARTICLE IT IS ATTEMPTED TO DESIGN A FRAMEWORK FOR MARITIME PROFESSION ETHICAL SYSTEM BY USING ETHICAL THEORY. THUS, AT FIRST SUMMARY OF THE SCIENTISTS ETHICAL PHILOSOPHY VIEWS IS STUDIED AND NEXT, PROFESSIONAL ETHICS SYSTEM AND THEN THE NECESSITY AND BENEFITS OF IT IN ORGANIZATIONS IS EXAMINED. NEXT, GENERAL PRINCIPLES AND AREAS OF MARITIME ETHICS ARE DISCUSSED. IN THE END, THE EXAMPLES OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICS IN THE FIELD OF MARITIME CARGO AND PASSENGERS, THE CARGO OWNER, THE SHIP'S OWNER AND SHIPPING COMPANIES, PORTS, SHIPS, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS, CLASSIFICATION INSTITUTIONS, ENVIRONMENT, WORKPLACE AND COLLEAGUES AND INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE DESCRIBED BASED ON THE VARIOUS CONDITIONS AS A MODEL FOR DEVELOPING ETHICAL CODES USED IN THE MARITIME COMMUNITY.
